Oh lordy, I need to go shopping!!! ETA a WIW

It is suddenly very cold in Johannesburg - we hit a low of 7c this morning, and it is just April!

I turned my wardrobe upside down trying to find something, anything, that I could wear. Eventually I ran out the house in an awful mess to drop the kids off at school, and came home again before work to continue the rampage - I just did not want to face the day in clothing that made me feel ugly. Eventually I settled on blue bootlegs jeans, black ankle boots, a long grey melange tank with my black cardi buttoned up and the grey tank peaking out below and above. I didn't have time for a WIW pic, I was so late!

I wanted to delay shopping for a winter wardrobe for a few more weeks, but it seems that it not possible!

OK - I came home and too a pic - what can I say - I love the feedback I get here! Even though I had a rough start to the day, and this outfit is pretty bland, I loved the fact that I looked quite slim! All feedback welcome!

Hil I do sympathise - I've been feeling like that all summer:)

Could you just find two or three FFBO (fast fall back outfits) for these mornings? In my experience shopping in a rush usually ends up causing more problems than it solves.

I agree with Caro, If you shop in a rush you tend to buy something you think you should get rather something you really like.

I am going to spend a few days planning! Just hate when the weather takes us by surprise like this. I am also about 10kgs lighter than I was last winter and 20kgs lighter than the winter before that, so I am long overdue a big clothes shop!

First, you look terrific! As for shopping, have you started to make a list of what you need? I would begin there. How long and cold are your winters?

Thanks Thistle! And yes - shopping my wardrobe is nigh impossible! Our winters are relatively mild - lows are around 0 - 7 c and highs 10 - 20c, and its normally cool from May to August... so not a long season.

I recently did a big purge, and now I think I need to purge some more - jackets that I thought I could get away with, I tried on this morning and they look like sacks on me!

Oh my. I just hate that ! You look great in your photo. Starting a plan is really good. I remember years ago that we a freezing Spring. I had the clothes for it, but then one weekend there was a + 50 degree change. I pratically died of heat with no clothes at hand. Then on Monday it was freezing again. Hang in there.
