Off to NY and holding the fort

Greg and I are off to NYC tonight for work and play. We will not be back until Sunday 1st February. We are also having our home office painted AND new carpets installed in the first week of February so needless to say it shall be a little chaotic on our end.

Apart from the daily YLF blog post I shall not be chiming in on the forum daily. I know you’ll do a fabulous job of keeping the forum going and we appreciate that enormously. Please bump up any threads that have specifically asked for my input when I return, if there are any.

Antje and Inge, you’ll have birthdays in my absence but I will make a point of wishing you on your special day. Have a great time and feel celebrated! You are both fabulous inside and out

Julia, have a splendid Chinese New Year! Greg and I will be having dim sum in Chinatown in honor of the year of the Ox.

Laura, Tanya and Maya, I shall see you in NYC. I can’t wait to hug you till I crush you!!! Travel safely and take care of those feet. If you need me at all, you have my mobile number.

I still have to pack, run errands and do a spot of work, but I will be on the forum today. I’ll be taking our girls through to Doggyhaven in a couple of hours which is fine with them but Mum’s a mess.

I'll miss you all.

I hope you guys have a wonderful trip and that the YLF get-together will be a fabulous affaire (no doubt in my mind that it will be - I really wish I could be there too). Those dim sum sound amazing too, you're making me hungry;-)

Oops, did I miss a thread about the NYC meet up plans? I double checked and didn't see an email. Well, it's just as well - I've already been in Manhattan for a meeting last weekend and have to be in D.C. in early Feb. so I should limit my travel spending anyway. Have a great time!!

Thanks Maya! We don't plan our dining very well when we travel, and taking chances with vegetarian food doesn't always work. My only positive food memory from my last NYC trip was Franchia (sp?) that had great tea but was quite pricey.

It's going to be my year on the Chinese calendar - is it supposed to be lucky or just eventful? I was never quite sure.
