Vacation - Paris in April: Wardrobe and footwear suggestions please

I am off to Paris for a 5 day trip in April.
Any suggestions on how to dress and the footwear to carry please

It will be more of public transport and lot of walking trip:
My current plan is :

Bottom:
1) My dark blue levis jeans
2 A tights(black colour)/Legging
3 Denim skirt

Tops:
1. Black plain t-shirt
2. Polka dot tunic(Can wear on both jeans and legging)
3 white and pink striped top
4. Plain green v necked tee shirt

Topper:
1) Denim jacket (If I buy one before trip)
or
Chunky knit moss green sweater

Footwear:

Mid tigh plain black boots
Silver ballet flats

Am I covered? I doubt I would be going anywhere fancy, So no point wasting precious bag space.

If you're doing a lot of walking what about a comfortable lace up shoe, either an Oxford or a runner instead of the ballet flat. And maybe add a raincoat too.

This are my PUMA sneakers.
They are comfortable but scream too sporty or touristy in my opinion

No oxfords here ... If only I could find one in time

Ramya, your Puma link sends me to a page with about 100 pairs of shoes. Something tells me you do not have all of these
As long as you have shoes that are comfortable for long walks you should be fine. And you might see some nice ones to bring back as a souvenir, right?

I went in April last year and it's a bit chilly, you might opt for more layers. I'm not sure a denim topper and the green sweater would be warm enough, then again I'm always cold so maybe you handle the chill better. Also, I agree with the sneakers comment (one dressy pair - aka your boots and one pair with a lot more cushioning). The cobblestone/paved stones are hard on ballet flats. You could still bring them but definitely add another comfy walking shoe. (ballet flats for the flight?)

I'd definitely add a trench, or an outer layer that you could wear in the rain or wind. My formula for a short trip is to plan around two basic outfits that would fit the climate and location. For example, your first outfit might be your cool weather one of jeans, T-shirt, sweater, rain/windproof outerwear, and boots. The second outfit might be your warm weather variation of leggings, tunic, and lighter weight walking shoes. Once I have those two outfits figured out, I then add a couple more tops (or layers) to round out the capsule--preferably ones that could work with either outfit. If I needed a dressy or business option, I'd create a third outfit. Toss in undies, sleepwear, a bit of jewelry or scarves, and your toiletries and you're done.

Since I usually can mix and match between outfits, that gives me lots of variety and ensures that I can figure out something to wear regardless of the situation or weather. If I wear one of the outfits on the plane (usually the cool weather option because it tends to be bulkier), I can fit everything else into a small carry on.

I second Gaylene's suggestion for bringing a trench coat or even a light wool coat. Spring in Paris can be very chilly and/or rainy. I would also take both the denim jacket (can be used as an extra layer under your trench or as outerwear when it's sunny) and the green sweater if possible. Personally, I'd bring more than one sweater too:-)

How about tights or hose to wear with your ballet flats and skirt, in case it's chilly? Throw in a scarf and umbrella too?-)

You have the pink & white Puma's, I think? If they are comfy and good walking shoes, I'd bring them along too. They will work with your jeans and these days it's not just the tourists who wear (sporty) sneakers, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. Also: perhaps have a look at Angie's sneaker style pinboard, lots of inspiration there.

All I can say after my Portugal vacation: bring more warm clothes than you think you need and take at least one waterproof pair of footwear! Don't forget an umbrella as well (can you tell we had a lot of chilly and rainy weather on our vacation )
