October, November and December Shopping

I added five pieces to my wardrobe in the last three months of 2020. For 2020 I added 23 pieces of clothing to my closet. I am going to call them successes because I did not know the pandemic was going to happen.

Successes for 2020
I kept to my budget.
I kept to my colour palette.
I started shopping online. I found Everlane, Lululemon and a vintage site to be the best sites. I also discovered a Canadian online site for lingerie. Yeah!!!
I was able to work with a Toronto shoe store to get my footwear delivered.

I have some thoughts about where I want to go with my wardrobe and style in 2021, but I will save that for another post.

Good on you for learning to shop online with success! I have really only learned it with shoes, since I have a standard European size 36 and no foot problems. The Finds you show look really nice for your style and colour palette.

Thank you, everyone! It was a big step for me to shop online but a necessary one. Shopping locally is not an option here, and I had run out of clothes. Yes really.
The Canadian sites that I have been using are:

1/ TheBra for lingerie. They do not have a huge selection, but fortunately for me, they carry Chantelle, which I like. I know my size in that brand.

2/ Pop and Emm for vintage clothing. I found them through Lisa P. She posts on Instagram. Shipping is $12.00, but her prices are reasonable, so I am okay with that. I usually wait until I have a few pieces before I have her ship things to me.

3/ Everlane. They are not Canadian, but they do not charge duty, and returns are so easy. The returns go to Calgary, so that helps speed the process along.

Looking forward to seeing them in action! I didn't used to understand all the brand loyalty in my early days here, since I was shopping in stores and just picked up whatever looked interesting- but now I do. Too much guesswork online otherwise.

Finn Comfort shoes are supposed to be well made and I believe they accommodate custom orthotics.

Finding online sources for the bras I prefer was time consuming but worth the effort. They turned out to be less expensive than when I purchase them from the lingerie boutique in town. It will be a hard choice deciding if I will continue to purchase online in the future or give my business to the local shop...

Staysfit, I agree that finding an online source for bras was time-consuming, but in the end, it was worth it. I buy my bras when I travel because the local store has a limited selection. Well, we know what that means. Also, they were much less expensive online than in the stores.
Finn Comfort does take custom orthotics. I don't use custom ones. The ones that come with the shoe mould to your feet and can be replaced. They work so well for my feet. Happy New Year to you!!!!

Angie, the corduroy jacket is very 70s. It does need some tailoring, which will have to wait until things open up.

Rachy, I was chicken about online shopping, but what was I going to do? Wear PJs all day? Live in my yoga clothes? I am still a bit nervous about buying from places like Shopbop because they don't give measurements.

Suntiger, I think brand loyalty becomes important with online shopping. I know what to expect now from places like Everlane. They do give measurements, and they show different models. That is so helpful.

La Ped, I can see the Cheeky Jeans being workhorses for me too. They work for my body type. I might order them in another wash if these work out.

Such great and considered purchases. I love how you are practical with what you buy and yet the items are always interesting. The corduroy jacket is going to be spectacular on you. I will have to investigate guying my bras online, I was shocked at how expensive they were last time I bought some new ones from my local retailer.

Suz and Carla, I will try to do a separate post on my online shopping. I am not computer literate, but I will get Mr. SF to help with links. I predict that more sites will become friendlier to Canadians, i.e. offer better return policies.

Bijou, I am excited to wear the new to me jacket. Buying my bras online has really saved me $$$$. I do like to support local businesses, but there aren't any that offer what I need.

Kkards, I have heard about Knix bras, but I know nothing about them. I am not much of a risk-taker when it comes to lingerie. I stick to the same things. The Knix do look comfy, though.
And yes, Liz Claibourne was a household name in the 70s/80s. I had so many pieces from her. But the label I miss the most is Mexx. That was my all-time favourite label.
