I don't know what my problem is, but lately as I've been out shopping, my eye keeps going to anything in a green hue. The problem is, I look TERRIBLE in green; there are maybe two shades of it I can carry off with my skin tone and coloring, and neither of those are in this season. I lean toward greys, blues, reds, purple, yellows, etc -- and while I know they probably could look good according to the color wheel with a green, none of them ever seem to work.

But I can't stop wanting the green! So last night it struck me: what if I get a green accent piece? Maybe that'll stop the obsession. I'm thinking maybe a small crossbody bag (which I have been searching for unsuccessfully for months before Angie's post) or something like that. I have a green scarf, but it's not great up against my face so I rarely wear it. I was looking at a pair of green wedge heels on sale at ATL last night, but I went with the black instead because they would have more versatility with my new dresses.

Has anyone seen a green piece that might quench my obsession? Clearly, I need help. LOL!

P.S. I checked out Express and WHBM for white button-downs yesterday but had no luck. I'll be hitting NY&Co and the department stores on Saturday.

I L.O.V.E. green, so I'm not the one to talk you out of this. I'd definitely keep looking for pieces in the shades that are flattering for your skintone (which two shades do you think look best?), and I think you are on the right track with your own ideas:
- a gorgeous pair of green shoes (will look great with dark denim, white...)
- love the idea of a green cross body bag
- maybe you could try a patterned scarf that has green in it
- necklace or bracelet?
- a pin
...

i second the idea of a patterned scarf with flecks of green - worn WITH a crossbody bag is there a specific shade of green you're after? some digging turned up these:

Oooh, thanks for the ideas and the tips! A scarf with some green in it will probably work very well. I LOVE that Fossil one, Hanna! I have a few green necklaces already, both short and long, which have been in rotation all "spring" (she said loosely, since we haven't seen anything resembling spring yet). I'm not really a pin person, but I could try. I've also been considering a green spring jacket or blazer...

I think I do better with shades of green that are bright or have blue undertones. The lime-y ones with yellow undertones are not good for me; I am blond with red-pink ruddiness and green-blue eyes. I look ill in yellow-lime.

Hanna, that green Tignanello is EXACTLY the bag that I think has kicked off my green obsession! I love that shade. LOVE. I almost bought it at Macys last week during their sale, but I hesitated. I just have nothing to wear with it.

On the other hand, I literally have nothing to wear for the summer anyway, so why not get it and build my new smaller-sized wardrobe around it? LOLOLOL!

Kristen, I have craved a bag in that color for a few years now, so I know what you mean! It's a gorgeous color. Get the purse. I suspect that color is like my banana bag.... it will go with a lot more than you think!

It is a bright emerald green with navy piping. It's not a cross body bag but it is so cute I had to share. It actually went on sale some time back so I don't see it on the website anymore although I saw several in store a couple of weeks back.

I don't think you necessarily need something to "go" with green per se. I think it would be a great pop of color to any neutral outfit and since you wear alot of black, I bet it would be easy to add in as a spring accent.

Too funny, Kristen! Well, the color green is not the worst thing you could obsess about ... and I agree with Shiny that a green bag could be just the ticket. You might wear it more than you'd ever imagine. NCyogini had a green bag pictured in her waistcoat photos the other day and it was adorable!

Shana, I saw that bag at BR too and drooled. It was too expensive at the time, but I will see if it's still around my local store and what the price is.

Shiny, I've been trying to convince myself that it could work like a yellow bag (which I have also craved and attempted to get for a while now -- I have one on order as we speak). My only concern is that the bright green I like isn't not complementary at all with the colors I usually wear. Hmm...

Merry, those belts look adorable! I have to stop by Sears tonight, I may wander through their Lands End section and see what they look like close up.

Oooh the emerald green bag is so pretty. I hope to see more of that color. It is a cooler green don't you think. I have to stay away from the yellow and yellow-greens too, but I love that emerald and always have.

Last time I looked, the bag was $109.99 but that was a couple of weeks ago. I was very tempted during the F&F sale when it was an additional 30% off...

San, if you're talking about the BR bag, it is definitely a cool green - a true emerald. They had a clutch version as well.

I love the scarf Hanna linked to and the bag Shana linked to. That is exactly the shade of green I've been looking for for a Summer bag, drool!

Kristen: if you wear mostly cooler colours (like I do), then I think that bag will got with a lot more items than you imagine.
And don't forget Shiny's banana bag, it's not a shade in the 'colour family' she usually wears, but it works!!

Can you tell that I want you to get a green bag;-)

Oh, Inge. I feel like I want to lay down and roll around in a sea of green right now! I think my favorites are the bright green short-sleeved jacket from Express, and all those fabulous green-and-multi necklaces from Etsy. So pretty!

I think...I'm still going to go for the bag. I am stopping by Macys tomorrow and if it's still available, I'm going for it. It'll be a great bag for weekends and casual outings, maybe even the more relaxed (yet still business casual) Fridays at work.

I also ordered another spring bag from Handbag Heaven, this one a tote for work (and probably for play too.) I actually ordered two, one a yellow hobo and one a teal tote. The yellow hobo is going back; it's weirdly disproportionate and too big, but I conferred with my handbag-loving coworker and I'm keeping the teal one. I will use it in an outfit this weekend and post a pic. Until then, the link is here:

It says teal, but it is very bright, much more turquoise than it appears online. So i'm not counting it toward easing my green obsession. ;-D
