Further to my first post about my observations on fashion in NL, I will repeat that the scope is very limited - modified by a short period of observation, a small geographic sample, and the weather. Whereas Rotterdam was rainy during my stay there, Amsterdam has been sunny but cool. Just lovely fall weather.

DH and I spent an entire day walking up and down the Western Canals and the Jordan, and doing some shopping. Day two we went through some of Old Town, into the Plantage, and the Southern Canals, to spend th morning at the Hortus Botanicus, and then take in the architecture.

Further to my last post, I would like to add that men and women of ALL ages go, careening about on bicycles, and folks appear fit and slim. Men and women 'of a certain age' have natural hair - lots of white and grey, with more older men sporting longer hair, and beards, and the younger men close cropped sides, long on the top. Women seem to have either (mostly) long hair, or boyish crops/pixies.

Below are some pics of some stylish folks that impressed me. There was a woman dressed in a column of olive, with a shiny bronze puffer, but I could not snap a pic. (I only took pics from behind to preserve anonymity.)

Toronto has a Shoe Museum, but apparently Amsterdam has a Bag and Purse Museum!
