I saw these shoes in finds and I can’t get them out of my mind! Who is the good/evil fairy who posted these, lol?

I think I might be in love. I’m seriously tempted to order and I’m thinking about emotional vs. organized shopping here. I don’t need them, but a pair of wingtips has been on my radar for a long time. I love the colors and they would go with my wardrobe perfectly. They do meet my style goal of adding more polish. But it is a lot for shoes that I don’t necessarily need - it feels very impulsive! How would you approach the situation?

I’m a more emotional shopper, so I’m probably not the best person to ask. Some of my favourite wardrobe additions have just fallen in my lap as a result of random browsing.

I’d bite the bullet and order them (assuming they are within budget.) There may be some fit or finish issue that means you don’t like them as much as you thought. But if they arrive and you still love them (perhaps more than ever!) then do an outfit creation session with them. Think about how often you’d wear them, how much joy they’d bring you, whether you need something else more, and make a decision from there.

I did not add these to finds, however, I personally own 6 pair of OAS shoes (collected over several years due to their cost). I sincerely doubt there will be any finish issues with these shoes…..they are impeccably made. They wear like iron and look amazing….true statement shoes which always get complements. They may require breaking in because they are built like solid men’s dress shoes…the leather is not buttery soft but it does mold to your foot. For the pairs I own with leather soles, I had a local shoe repair shop add protective low profile rubberized soles which should help the shoes last longer in a wet climate (lots of rain and snow).

I did not look to see which last these are built with? My understanding is there are two…I believe one is called the Austin, and the other is called the Rock. I believe the Austin is narrower in the heel…it’s last I prefer for my foot.

I would personally order them if you like them. If they fit, I bet you will enjoy them for years because they are a classic style (with a fun twist) and should remain wearable. IMO the price is worth paying for the quality of the item.

I just checked the website, these are the Rock last, which is their roomier last. They have also added some new fits, the Barbara, and the Viola. I am currently drawn to a pair built on the Viola last…..

Sorry... it was me. Currently obsessed with OAS. I love the idea of these styled with everything from light-washed jeans, to a suit or taffeta skirt. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to the OAS website.

It's worth getting on the mailing list ... they do send a lot of email but occasionally they have sales, which is how I got my one pair of OAS boots. I do love the brand.

FAB shoes — i see you ordered them…so you must really love them…
but in answer to your question, when i see something that’s at the tippy top (or slightly over ) my price comfort zone for an item i sit on it..add it to my wish list, and then check in again a week or so later to see how I’m feeling

They are beautiful and I am always attracted to their offerings each season! They do offer several different lasts with varying widths, but unfortunately I have tried a few pairs (the mid-heel oxfords and booties), sized up to try to get more space in the toe box, but struck out in terms of fit (heel a smidge too high at 2.5 inches, coupled with the slightly narrow toe box even in a size up). I am crossing my fingers they work for you! They are really gorgeous.

My shoes arrived! They actually arrived yesterday but I didn’t get home until late. It’s been crazy with work here as well as crazy hot, but I’ll post pics soon.

They are predictably gorgeous-they just blew me away when I opened the box. They fit well in a size 41 (I’m almost always an 11 B). They are very stiff, which the website warns about. I need to wear them in the house to make sure they’ll work, but so far I think this was a good impulse purchase!

I added some pictures. They have loosened up quite a bit, much easier to get on and off.
One surprise- I thought they’d be chunkier but they are quite sleek. I think they make my feet look smaller. How do they look?

Very beautiful! They are a very trim shoe, the opposite of bulky, so they definitely don't make your feet look large :). Are you wearing with a no-show sock? Do you have lots of outfits in mind that they will complete with panache?
