Thank you Brooklyn. I am ok except for water in my garage and our spouting falling off the side of the house, but it has been horrendous for some people. I know some people who have lost their home and evacuated with just the clothes on their back. Now we are seeing people in the news that have lost their lives.

Thanks Brooklyn for thinking of us. I’m not there, but my family are good and our 2 houses next to each other are OK. DH’s elderly parents had no power or phone for some hours and his sister posted on a community Facebook page which the police were monitoring- they went around and checked they were OK and charged the 86 y old MIL’s mobile phone in their police car. Very good of them. I think they took a bit of food too- I don’t know the exact story. It was FIL’s 92nd birthday too so not a very fun one for him

Thanks- we are okay here- Hamilton where I live was relatively unscathed. It’s been devastating in some regions- with loss of life and destruction.

It’s been a much wetter summer than usual so the ground water is exceptionally high and the ground very wet- our roads are a mess.

Friends of ours had just left after a wonderful holiday.Thank goodness they got out when they did but obviously our thoughts are with those who live there and are affected.
