NYT Connections confusion

Jon is better than me at this puzzle - I am stronger at the mini crossword.

But yesterday I found it easy and he did not get it out. He was flabbergasted to find out that there are Mom jeans and Boyfriend jeans - (the other two were skinny and flare). He is very confused.

So my fashion knowledge is useful….

Haha, that was fun! I bet it throws a lot of people. I never heard of "speculative" literature. I do a lot of guessing with Connections. Wordle is easier for me.

I had never heard of speculative literature either - and sorry if I provided spoilers - I did a different one this morning prior to posting. So potentially as NZ (and Samoa) are the first countries across the international date line we get the crossword first in the world....if you need information DM me haha!

I am okay at Connections and Wordle, and the Mini. I don't like spelling bee or strands or tiles - I come and go on Letter Box. Jon is a mad crossworder and does about three cryptic ones a week.

Ha! Our whole family does ALL the puzzles (Wordle, Connections, Strands, the Mini, and we do Spellsbee and Wordtendo instead of Spelling Bee because that is a pay to play). I am terrible with Connections, but I DID know the jeans! Incidentally, I am also terrible with the Mini, as crosswords aren't my jam (I'm a Sudoku kind of person), but I absolutely adore Spellsbee and Wordtendo. I especially love that after you reach the highest level, Wortendo tells you how many words are left, and after you're down to two words, it tells you how many points are left.

I do them all, except strands…..Sudoku, crossword, spelling bee, connections, letterboxed, mini, wordle. I’m surprisingly good at the connections unless it involves sports. I admit that connections can sometimes take time. I may look at everything and then set it aside for a while and then go back to it again later. The solution to the connections puzzle often occurs to me while I’m doing other things. My brain keeps working while I fold laundry or make tea, etc. The hardest puzzles for me tend to be the crossword, and the hard version of Sudoku, and sports edition of anything….I really do not know my sports stadiums, players, teams…LOL! On the crossword if there are sports related answers I usually get them by filling in everything else first….Sometimes music or geography gets me also, but less often. I’m best at the Spelling Bee and Word Boxed. I usually get to Queen Bee and almost always to “Genius” as long as I have time in the morning.

Sorry to have missed that Connections! I do it most nights before bed, and I do Spelling Bee without fail every morning. Terrible at crosswords though. I do love to think about how many people are doing these games all over the world every day. I often do Spelling Bee at 3 AM when it comes out for us; it helps with my insomnia.
