Thanks, everyone!
Kari — DYOT/DMOT — doing your own thing/doing my own thing
Bootcuts and flares really do seem to be “my thing” — I don’t see many people wearing them, but I love them for me, so I’m continuing to make them my thing, and if no one else is wearing them (yet), I’ll just consider myself ahead of the trends. I don’t know why all of a sudden I’ve almost completely lost interest and patience with skinnies, but I’m not forcing myself to wear something I’m not enjoying.
In NYC, I wasn’t really feeling any big purchases for me, and I had that experience when I was in NY this fall. So no, no gorgeous handbag.
However, it was a joy to find that wonderful jacket for my husband at the Ralph Lauren flagship store. Everything is so short on him (as you can tell from the photos of us — I’m 5’7” and he is nearly a foot talller!), it’s a challenge to find beautiful pieces that fit him properly. You can’t really see the fit of that suede cognac jacket well because he was pulling it taut in the photo, but it’s great on him. He almost didn’t try it on at my prompting because he just assumed the arms would be too short. They were just a smidge short, but the store’s tailor made short work of a little stretching technique on the soft suede to eek a little more length out of those sleeves, which did the trick.
Thanks for all the lovely remarks. Hubs and I are truly fortunate and we never forget it. ❤️
