I did the worse thing--I bought a pair that don't fit in the heels but look nice and are comfortable otherwise, so I may only them with pants and not dresses, but I liked how they looked so much in general that now I really want some that fit better! So I plan to keep poking around and remember my PPP's.
What I liked was that in the right kind of nude --these were light taupey-nude-- was the lower contrast with my never-tanned legs. This color just looks easy to wear with some of the brighter colors I would like to do more of for spring and summer, and looked less severe and frumpy than black (I have fussy feet as well as wobble in anything hight at all, so can't wear what most people or magazine spreads consider real pumps, with narrow heels--that to me kind of makes black look better, more sleek and sexy--yah, for someone else!) or having to pick, black ? brown? match? The result is I'm put off buying dresses when I really would use them for non-work occasions. So at present I'm thinking that the "right" ones would be an easy go-to dress shoe for me.
Sounds like you are doing a good thing to be evaluating where they might fit in for you, but don't need to go buy some just to say you have them.
