Nude pump possibility

I like the simple style of these nude pumps by Vince Camuto http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/vi.....tback=1213. Reviews are decent and they are available in my size. Although the heel is 3" (bordering too high for me) there is a 1/2 inch platform so should be doable. I am looking for a nude pump - what do you think?

They are gorgeous shoes but it all depends on how they look on you. Do you have any options for shoe stores in your area? That nude could be too light for you or it could be just right... do these really feel like you? it might be fun to try something outside of your norm but remember that nude/low contrast shoes don't necessarily have to be your skin color. They could be gray, taupe, greige, snake, animal, gold, silver, pewter, etc. They can be clunky, funky, cage booties. They don't necessarily have to be the standard issue nude pump -- I may just be projecting because I am anti-pump right now...

They are the standard issue pumps, you can't go wrong with them. I would love to see you in something edgier, in a textured type of material, however.

These are very classic and nice I agree with Rita, why not consider a more fun shoe option? I have been wearing my metallic loafers with everything lately, so I can vouch for the fact that metallic will be a fun choice!

BUSTETD! You are so right on the money Rita, it's kinda scary! Those pumps DO NOT feel like me at all! Thanks for calling me out on it...I think I got caught up with feeling like I'm SUPPOSED to have a pair of nude pumps...don't know why that is.

I'm kinda laughing that all of you have suggested something edgier! Glad you all know me so well! Will keep on looking...and in actual stores...thank you my lovely YLFers!

Beautiful shoes and I like that platform but a light textured (snakeskin?) would definitely take a very "classic" style and make it more modern!

You don't know why you felt like you HAD to have nude pumps? How about every fashion guideline out there that says 'nude pumps' are a must have for every woman?

I have a pair sitting in my closet too and they are uncomfortable and boring and LAME. I much prefer my nude oxfords and metallic loafers - they do the same thing, but are so much more 'me'!

Thank God for YLF where you can build your own basics instead of following someone's else's ideas of a 'must have'.

Rita nailed it!!! Like Kirti, I have a pair of Naturalizer nude sling-backs with a platform, that are a bit high for me. They do lengthen the leg, but are "standard issue" and I don't wear them often due to the height factor. I love Rita's thoughts on thinking outside the box with cage booties and other design elements that sing to you.

Ok...I'm looking again at the Mary Janes which Jean provided the link to. They are pretty adorable, I agree and I LOVE the colour. Are they too flat to wear with dresses and skirts though? I have to be careful with flat shoes with dresses because I'm prone to "frump factor". For example, picture them with my new floral dress, or the lace dress I'm wearing today...not sure they'd work.

Oh....never mind....they won't ship these ones out of the U.S. anyway.

They're pale pink patent, but on me that's nude. It's hard to tell how gorgeous these are without trying them on, but the shape is really nice. And I love how the heel is thicker -- much more practical and a little retro. They're very comfy too. I have a pair from this shoe family and I wear them all day long without problems. I'd buy them myself if new shoes were in the budget.

Unfortunately neither Zappos nor 6 pm deliver to Canada.
I'm going to give up for now since shoes are giving me a headache and probably driving all of you crazy.

Sorry it's stressful! I know, I'm having a hard time finding some flats I like. I don't mind looking... (can you tell). Anyway, sometimes it's easier to search on one of those other sites and then do a google search for the name and find it somewhere that sells to Canada. Quite often Amazon will have it, but some reason it's harder to find? Anyway, take 2 aspirin and look again tomorrow!

I'll be watching since I have nude shoes on my S/S 2012 list! I don't wear office clothing, so a traditional pump might not fit my style needs, either. But I don't want an open toe in case I need to wear them for interviews or other more conservative occasions.

No no no! You are not driving us crazy! We love this stuff, or we wouldn't be on this site and posting, right?!? I have to agree that those pumps, while lovely, are very classic, which can be fine, but can also be boring. I have a lovely pair of peep toe, closed back (ha! ha! slingback, you didn't get me this time!), patent, nude wedges that I bought last year and wore the heck out of. I plan to wear the heck out of them again this year. But I'm in love with them, not settling. What I'm hearing here is that you are settling. You deserve better than that.
