I have a Friday night wedding to attend and my Mom deemed the dresses I own too dressy for the event. So I shopped and tried on so many dresses at every price point point, my head is spinning. Why are dresses so difficult? Anyway, my SO loves this one so I guess this is the winner unless you all think it looks horrible on me.

Of course it's simple and black because that's just me. I will pair the dress with my classic 'oil slick' pumps that have subtle gold-green-blue-magenta tones, gold dangle earrings and my Gram's vintage gold clutch. I’ll throw my Gram-in-Law's vintage wool topper over my shoulders because it is only going to be around 45-50 degrees. I have several other much dressier earring and clutch options that I think work well too, but I'm keeping it simpler so I don't go further into the 'too dressy' zone.

I'll wear shaping panty hose to smooth out the lumps/bumps and because it's freezing out. I'm just not sure about the color of hose to wear.

What do you think, nude or black hose?

Also, any suggestions for super shaping panty hose are welcome. I've worn DKNY in the past but I'm thinking about trying Spanx this time around.
