Nude dress on really pale skin?

Hi girls,

I saw a look that really inspired me a little while back:

I am well aware that anything nude/beige near the face can wash you out...I am super pale like this girl. But I think she pulls it off really well! I really love the cut of the dress too, very classy yet super sexy the way it clings to her curves. I especially love that pop of red in the shoes and the reddish wash on her lips.

So, now I am a bit obsessed with finding a nude dress. Do you think it would work for me? I was thinking of leaning towards a more pinkish nude than cream, it may work better with my pinkish skin tone? I'm thinking something like these in colour:

If you try the dress on and find a shade that compliments the pink in your skin you will look beautiful. Your hair is dark enough and be sure to leave the rest of your face neutral but do accent the lips. Good luck!

yes.. I think you're on the right track. You want to choose a "nude" that will pick up your own skin tones and then you should be fine.

I can't advise too much on the color, but I think there is definitely a way to make it work.

I am pale, much like yourself, and I just got a nude colored dress. I think you can make it work!

I think the key is probably the right tone like the other ladies have said. Not keen on the color of that first dress against her skin tone but that Scarlet Johannson one is sensational! Seems they all have a strongly colored lippy to bring up the color to their face and keep from the washed out appearance.

I'm not mad about the first girl's look. That dress looks more cream than nude to me and just makes her look a bit dead. I think pale, porcelain skin can be lovely but not like this. Would've preferred a bone color. More gray than yellow.

The second dress works because it has a nice sheen to it. I have to be the odd one out and say I don't like nudes in general, regardless of skin tone, unless they have some kind of texture. Flat cottony nudes just don't do it for me.

The second two work for me - I think you're on the right track Tara with pinkish tones. The first picture doesn't work for me as well because to my eye it does seem to wash her out. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I think adding texture to the nude would be great too.

For me, the red accents make it work. Same for your first picture. I didn't love the look on Nicole Kidman. The color was all too matchy and boring.

I'm not a fan of the blush/nude look, I think it is a very difficult look to pull off. However, I do think the key to not looking washed out is a non flat material (something with a sheen or shine to it) and pops of color as the examples show. I agree that something in the pink area would be a good start for your skin tone.
