Congrats on that, Cindy, we celebrate along with you!

Absolutely right, Xtabay. Good on you cindysmith!

Congrats Cindy!
I postponed my trip to visit my dad, which was supposed to happen in spring. I just asked the airline to keep a credit- which will expire in January next year. I may just ask for my $$$ back though and drive to see him- as miserable as that would be. Other things DH and I were planning have gotten cancelled or made virtual.

My journey to the Faroe Islands in August is cancelled, but the event I was invited to might be held next summer instead, in which case I will consider to go. And I still hope to go to Denmark in August.

My flight to Denmark in April was cancelled, but I got cash points and will probably use them for another flight next fall or spring, if at all possible.

Thank you, ladies! XOXO

I had a family trip to Japan planned for October which is unlikely to happen. The tickets were purchased, but no accommodation. I should be able to move the flights to 2021 when it is safe to travel again.

I was supposed to go to Mexico in March. Postponed til November but who knows?

I was supposed to go to the Olympics, too. Our tickets are supposed to be good next summer, so as long as it's safe and the event is happening, we will go. Instead, we may take a road trip to a family summer house, which we otherwise wouldn't have done this year. (Being sure to get tested before leaving and keeping to ourselves once there. Fortunately, it's now easy to get a swab test here.)

I was going to head back home to the UK this summer, as I do every year (to see family & to escape the brutal heat, humidity & typhoons that characterise Hong Kong's summer months. Oh & to shop for in-person clothing finally available in my size, of course ).

My airline has cancelled my ticket, but I'm still trying to chase up the refund... it may be possible to just rebook the flight at a later date but, given how long it may be until international travel feels safe again, I think I'd rather just get new tickets closer to the time. I was also supposed to speak at a conference that's been rescheduled to the winter.

I'm very grateful however, because I had my birthday & honeymoon in Malaysia earlier this year & returned to HK only 4 DAYS before we entered full lockdown - we had been toying with the idea of extending our trip for another week. Talk about timing! Luckily my studies are online so that hasn't been too disrupted either - fingers crossed I get to attend my UK graduation next year!
