November was a dynamic month for my closet! October saw the annual wardrobe audit and the editing of some garments and accessories. This usually leads to a big seasonal B&M shop - but with Covid numbers on the rise in Ontario, that was out of the question. There is online shopping, but I just can’t muster the enthusiasm for a big virtual shop.

Instead I decided to shop my closet and really plumb the depths - trotting out some of my oldie but goodies and styling them in different (and more modern?) ways. (I wore 17 of 24 different tops and 6 of 7 different bottoms, all my toppers, and 4 different coats.)

November acquisitions - merlot joggers, red leather combat boots, and a brown cashmere turtleneck - have gone into immediate rotation. The red boots are a step back to my comfort zone (Brights! Red!) whilst the merlot bottoms and the brown top are developmental, as I contemplate a different (more subdued?) palette.

My challenge for December is to milk the red elements of my wardrobe, and to juxtapose items from my dressy capsule with more casual pieces for ‘festive lite’. I’m digging out my snowman pin, and I’ll use it to affix a little holly to my hat or the coat of the day!
