I would love an option that alerts me when another member responds to a post that I have written.

most of the boards have this option.

Is this a possibility?

Hi Chadya,

This actually already exists:
You can activate this option on your profile page under "Email" (second tab on the right) - Forum Notifications.

Hope this helps.
