Winter has been around long enough to see what’s working in my everyday outfits. Some notes from my particular context (very cold, very dry, very urban):
Knee-high boots or mid-shaft ankle boots keep the ankles warm and allow for various pant lengths/widths.
Skinnies/leggings - showing leg silhouette is key under bulky outer layers. Long swishy skirts or wide pants just add to bulk.
Long sweaters for drama. Long cardigan and long turtleneck sweater-vest have been faves. A longer coat would be useful for better layering over these.
Coats, scarves, hats, gloves in various complements (working with footwear and purses in burgundy, silver/gray, brown, black).
Smaller earrings to avoid scarf entanglement. Less product in hair to avoid making hat sticky. Less makeup as it gets onto scarf and hat.
Interesting how things fall into clear patterns by the end of the season.
