So at the end of April I saw this article online from InStyle (not sure if was ever in print issue, but I doubt it) Anyways it had a bunch ideas for outfits with shorts. Though more than one with blazers, but most styles had longer shorts. Recently we had an early heat wave and I dragged out my shorts (ugh)
I realize H&M is fast fashion, but there’s not a whole lot of fun stuff in plus sizes. But even H&M didn’t haven’t a lot, everything I got was on sale though. I got black & white in the linen shirt. Not sure about the orange blazer, I didn’t look closely at the composition, viscose & very little linen. The orange may not be quite right. Also white shorts would have been good, but those can be tricky

I'm on the same page. I took a pair of light wash denim I was going to get rid of because they bagged out and cut them off right above the knee. They're very slouchy and give this vibe. I really like the last look in particular.

I tend to thrift almost all my clothes anyway therefore I have evidence in front of me of how well things have held up. Some of my very favorite things happen to come from H and M. I have no problem with it. Hoping you will discover the same in the things you selected. I think viscose is a great summer fabric, btw. For some reason, I am *very* into orange right now. It's great with white, with beige, with pink, with light blues...

I have a secondhand pair of my current favorite jeans that I am also thinking about hacking into cutoffs, but not certain about what length I’d like.

I can definitely see you going this direction with the long shorts and blazer and/or short linen blouse. I really like the inspo photos--my faves are 4 and 6. I can see you in a version of 7; do you have a sweatshirt or two to try? And if it's cool enough for a sweatshirt, you could definitely wear booties. Or sneakers, Birks, flatforms, any kind of chunky footwear would work. I hope the pieces work out!

You know, it’s funny, I have never thought to pair shorts with a blazer (maybe because of my general hesitation to wear shorts on all but the hottest days), but I really like some of those looks! I could see this being a really fun look for you. Did you ever find your chunky loafers? Crossing fingers your order contains some winners.

I like the ideas but no longer wear anything that ends above the knee I may try ignored blazers with cropped pants for summer. I could do the first outfit and even have the orange blazer and cropped black crops and black Toms ' fabric shoes. If it ever turns hot enough. So far we have about 8 inches of rain this month.

Not a shorts person myself, anymore. I certainly did enjoy a couple of DKNY dressier short suits back in the early 90’s, though after several years of storage, I realized how massive the shoulder pads were.

Ive been ordering tons of shorts and linen tops too, trying to find a capsule for summer that all fits in one bag.

If you are looking for any more to try, a few I found. you might like this eyelet gap top. It runs big, the XL was too big for me. But the fabric is great-- a bit thicker. The Caslon linen shirt, its a nice blend and also runs big & lots of colors. The gap has some pleated linen shorts in a great fabric and the shape is a little swingy.

The gap denim 10" "Stride Bermuda" leg shorts are great--I might keep them, although the denim is a bit heavy for really hot weather. Gap finds are not working right now for me, but here are links:
