Today’s blog post made me realize that I generally prefer my plaids to be on the quieter, more low-contrast side. I like tonal plaids and am really choosy about the color palettes. When I do go for a bolder plaid, it’s usually in the form of a topper or an accessory. Some of these pieces have been in my wardrobe for a decade (I just wore that Burberry shirt a few days ago and it remains a favorite!). Even those old plaid jeans, which are currently too tight and in the holding zone. I tend to wear these items with quieter, more neutral pieces too — I’m not a bold plaid/pattern mixer! I wear plaid a lot more in winter than in summer — I think that Vince top is my only summer plaid piece.

This was a good reminder to pull out that beloved red plaid bag! I love that bag so much I had loops added inside the flap to hold a crossbody strap — I never use a clutch anymore so I need the crossbody functionality.
