Nordstrom's Miraclesuit halter dress cover up sold out :(

Vicki, I feel your pain on the Leith cold-shoulder sweatshirt. I was SO excited about this new cover-up dress by Miraclesuit as it's been 3 years since I refreshed my swim capsule. It was just featured in the January catalog.

Wow. That's a very cute cover up! Have you looked elsewhere online to see if someone other than Nordstrom sells it? Or is it a Nordstrom exclusive?

Have you tried talking to a sale associate at Nordstrom? Once when I wanted a pair of shoes that were supposedly sold online in my size they found a pair on the internal inventory system.

Call your local Nordies... they can check inventory in stores. Sometimes when inventory is low it will appear as unavailable online.

I hope you're able to find it, Laura! I'm confused by it, though. It says it has a built in bra - which seems awkward since presumably you're wearing it over a swim suit which would also have a built in bra, or whatever support you thought you need already, no? I wonder if the built in bra is removable.

Smallest size is a size 8 though, would that work? The comment from the Nordstrom team on your link also seems to indicate this style is only available from size 8 and upwards.

If Nordies can't help you, I'd also consider calling Miraclesuit directly. FWIW, they also have a store locator on their website:

If everything else fails, I'd start checking swimwear and lingerie stores in your area to see if they sell this style.

Call a store, not the 1800#. They may have it for you. I was looking for a MK turquoise necklace that was sold out online. I called a store in a different time zone -- where I thought they might be friendlier and more patient with me - and lo and behold they found it for me in the Chicago nordie's. Good luck!

Thank you Inge! You know, I was about to order from the link you showed when I noticed that although the photo shows what appears to be a whole dress, the item is called "halter top," so I think it's just a top and then you order the skirt separately? How confusing. And then, in the Nordie's catalog it appears to be described as swimwear, but online it's listed as a cover up, and as MPJ notes, it has an underwire bra, which would seem to indicate swimwear. What the heck?? What is this mystery garment?

So - still more questions than answers. If I have time tonight, I will try calling a couple of stores, as Modgrl suggests. Perhaps a salesperson can tell me what exactly this garment's purpose is! and Modgrl, I love that you chose the Chicago Nordies as a potentially friendlier location to call for help Yay Chicago.

I just went back and forth between the pictures on both websites and still think it's the same item, Laura. They are just calling it something else?

I agree that calling some stores for more info is your best bet. Do keep us posted, enquiring minds want to know what we are dealing with here;-)

I agree with Inge. It looks like it is that tanktini top, but just loosened at the neck and pulled down further to make a "dress".

If you look at the link Inge provided, the backside of the model shows she's wearing standard swim bottoms. I think this item consists of the top (the blouson part and the part with the ties). You have to buy swim bottoms to go underneath.

Reporting back: Got the cover-up in denim, size 8. I can't rave enough about it! Super flattering, beautiful fabric. It's a deep blue, textured to look like denim, but a little sheen to it, because it is swimwear fabric.

I think I can wear this as swimwear if I buy a pair of bikini bottoms. It will do the trick for splashing around the pool with the kids or running around a waterpark. Clearly it would not work for hard core lap swimming.

I am going to buy a pair of bottoms. Worst case is I discover it doesn't work well as swimwear and I have to buy a tankini top, too.

Conclusion: Highly recommend!
