Nordstroms 1/2 yearly?

I remember last year's discussion of the differences between Nordstrom's 1/2 yearly sale (starts tomorrow) vs the NAS sale (July). I think I'll check out the 1/2 yearly sale, wondering if some of the Halogen items in the YLF store may be on sale..? Anyone else have any scoop on what may be on sale tomorrow..?

The half yearly is a sale on spring/summer or fall/winter items Nordstrom has leftover on the racks.

The Anniversary Sale features specifically selected, brand-new merchandise for the upcoming fall season. Basically, it is Nordstrom thanking its customers with a super sale on current in season merchandise.

I think the sale in July is for the fall/winter line, if I'm not mistaken. Many a birthday I have had $$ to spend on that sale as my birthday falls just before and it is wierd shopping for winter clothes when it is in the 80's.

Yep, I got a great winter coat at an amazing price at last year's NAS. Don't worry, you won't miss it if you hang out here -- Angie starts counting down and makes sure everyone knows when it's coming!

Half-yearly could be good if you still need summer items.

The Franco Sarto 'Tazer' sandals featured in the YLF store are down from $100 to $65 in the black leather. These are fantastically comfortable and chic 3" wedges that don't feel like high heels so now may be the time if anyone has sat on the fence with these.

I also had a pair of Joe's Jeans black ponte knit straight leg skinny pants I had been saving and they went from $100 to $50.

So I just pounced.

Thanks ladies. I know what the difference is, just wondering if anyone has any specifics on what will actually be on sale tomorrow in the store and/or any scoop on deals.

On TPF someone posted that their Nordstrom's SA said they are starting pre-sale for NAS on this Thursday, May 27th!!

I don't know which departments do pre-sale, nor do I have an SA, but somehow they know what items will be on sale and the sale price. . .

Wow, I didn't know pre-sale was beginning already! Pre-sale is very mafia. You whisper the secret to your SA insider and are whisked off to a backroom/curtained area with all the pre-sale merchandise. There's samples in various sizes to try on and you can pre-order for pick-up or delivery once the sale starts.

I swear the underground/secrecy of the pre-sale generates extra revenue. It's hard to resist the mystery and exclusiveness of it all.

Oh yes, I love the Nordstrom pre-sale! Nordstrom is second to none in service and they'll let you look as long as you like and help you find exactly what you are looking for. I browse the pre-sale for all the departments I can, including beauty. You'll never know what you'll find and you have to grab it because once something sells out (and things go fast!) you might not see returns until the special pricing expires.

I've heard some stores limit who they allow to pre-sale (cardholder, tier 2 cardholder, etc.), but if you play up how much you love Nordstrom service they'll probably let you in.

do any of these sales apply to their online merchandise? I don't have a Nordstrom's near me.

Yes, the sale is online too. The selection is more extensive than most Nordstrom stores, there's more of each size, and the sale begins earlier or should I say later... the bad news it has historically begun at midnight on the west coast.

I'm shopping with a client who especially wants to shop half yearly tomorrow. It's all Spring and Summer stash.

This year's NAS in on the 16th July. Start saving now if Autumn and Winter are your dominant seasons.

Laura, I'll be pre-selecting as I always do. Also taking clients to do their rounds too. I'm already excited :0)

I have never participated in NAS and this year is going to be another sit out for me. Sigh. I'd sell my soul for new riding boots
