Nordstrom Sob Story: Update - YouLookFab Forum

Well I'm bummed out. I ordered one of the items Angie called out from the Nordstrom sale. I was so excited to see it had arrived today, however I was bummed once I opened the box and saw I received the wrong item. I ordered the heather oatmeal color in large (an off white color) and received the heather charcoal in medium. At this point, the one I ordered/wanted is no longer available. The worst part is, I think it would be a keeper one size up and in a more summery color (I already have three charcoal toppers and do NOT need another).

So so so so bummed out. Photos of the one I received below.

P.S. I need to get back on the habit of being on YLF more regularly. It's been a super busy month and doesn't seem to be letting up...

UPDATE: I called Nordstrom again this morning. There might be one in my size/color in an Oregon store. The Customer Service person will get back to me after the store opens later today. If that doesn't work, I'm tempted to have them send me the Heather Oatmeal in Petite Large. I have a short torso and I would plan to wear the sleeves scrunched, so maybe the Petite would work ok for me. Fingers are very, very crossed!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear your order was botched. I hope you're able to get a light topper somewhere else that will fill your wardrobe hole.

I am so sorry it worked out that way!! And yeah, things fly off the shelves once Nordies does a sale.

If anyone has tips for a similar style topper in a summer/light color (and sub-$100 price point), I'm all ears!

Just a suggestion, have you tried calling customer service and telling them your problem?...I have called Nordstrom CS and had them check their stores for something I felt I "hadtohave"...Hope this works..
I know how disappointing something like this can be...

crutcher, I called Nordstrom customer service immediately. The item I received seemed to have another person's name on it and I even suggested that maybe she would call to say she had received my oatmeal large and we could do a trade. That was wishful thinking on my part. But the Customer Service person did confirm that the item I want is no longer available either online or in stores.

Bummer for sure! I received a dress from Anthro when I ordered a shirt. The invoice was correct, but someone just tossed in the wrong item. I'm sure they get crazy busy and work very fast at the distribution centers or stores or whatever. I'm actually surprised there are not more mistakes made.That doesn't help your situation, though!

I would keep checking with Nordstroms customer service every day or two. O
n line is never an accurate count on store inventory (as other members have stated). I just found a pair of shoes for my son using this method even tho for several days CS said they were sold out in his size.

That is a bummer.

I haven't yet seen a light color topper with that shape and heaviness (I've seen that shape but in a more stiff linen in white, or in a thinner cardigan) but will keep an eye out.

Did you check ebay and amazon?

If it is, they do have the "morel" color in all sizes. If you like that color, I'd try calling Nordstrom, and asking, since it was their mistake, if they'd exchange it for that one as an even exchange (i.e. at the sale price).
It's worth a try!

Whoo hoo!!!! The Oregon store has one in the color and size I want and it is now on its way to me. No more tears! Thank you for all your therapeutic comments and encouragement to keep trying with the Nordstrom Customer Service.

Well at least you received a sweater! I ordered from my workplace several years ago ( this is the only time in 8 years that this happened ,automated warehouse, no problems since! ) I had ordered a beige 40 H bra ,the invoice and the Baggie were labeled 40 H bra beige . Problem?
The contents of the Baggie were by no means a bra or even for the top half of the body. I received a pair of jeans that were a women's size 30 ,light wash flare. They were HUGE! !!( I tend to wear a 20 womens to a 24 usually and mom wears 16-20 depending on the cut/ fit)
I did end up keeping them as a gift for my very plus size aunt ( who adored them) as the price ended up being around $6 something for $50 jeans .
