Hey, losermom, I live 30 minutes from MoA and (somehow) manage to get there almost every week Maybe someday we can plan a MN MoA YLF meet up there and we can be the ones to critique each other's clothes!!
Anyway, Elizabeth, I always stay in NRack longer than I planned because there can be so much to look through and try on. But some general advice is:
-don't take kids if possible as they hate this store. Absolutely nothing for them there and it is quite crowded with people and merchandise.
-definitely try things on - don't just take them home to try later. Some things are there because they have been altered and returned, so the size/length may not be what you think, and 30 days to return goes by pretty quickly.
-leave and take a break, get coffee or tea, and head back in if needed. Trying on a variety of clothing is exhausting and mentally draining as you decide how to fits, how it looks, what it goes with, etc.
- be open to surprise treasures, but be careful of impulse purchases. It's too easy to go home with a great deal on shoes you didn't need when you were supposed to be looking for jeans (not that I've ever done anything like that
