Nordstorm haul

I recieved these items from Nordstorm. The wit & wisdom brocade skinnies I think I need to size down but what do you guys think? It gaps quite a bit from the back. May be it needs to be taken in from the waist.

#6 and 7 is max and mia high low coated sweater. I really like this but not sure how practical it is. Can it be incoroporated in more casual outfits?

#8 is Pleione Split Neck Roll Sleeve Mixed Media Top. Love the look of this.

What happens with the pants if you pull them downward tightly and then turn them under or cuff them in order to check the fit? It looks like you are wearing a skirt with pants underneath. They may be designed for a much taller person by several inches.
The tops are lovely on you, I think. Especially in winter, I don't see any problem with wearing the metallic top as a component of a casual outfit. How about with a textural mix like a suede jacket? Or denim or tweed.

The pants DO look too big throughout the leg. If you wanted a slouchy skinny (or is it a baggy skinny?), then shortening them would help with the knee bunches and you'd wnat to take in the waist? If you wanted a more 'traditional' skinny, then I'd size down.

Also love the gold sweater, but it IS a lot of sweater (like Angie said to Joy about hers), and if you're not at ease in it, then don't. I got the silver foil coated one in NAS and have been wearing it all fall/winter with jeans and with black skinnies - which I think of as casual outfits. I get compliments on it all the time and have gotten used to my blingy torso So, if you're up to the shine, it is NOT just for holidays!

Thanks for the input Vildy and MNsara, these are not slouchy or baggy skinnies. I want a more traditional fit and will try a size or two down today when i go to the store. Vildy, I have curvy thighs with knocking knees. I think that is what makes it look like a skirt.
MNsara, do you have any pics in your silver top on YLF? I would love to see it.

I like the tops, especially LOVE the white blouse on you, great color (or lack thereof ha ha) and great shape for you. The gold is gorgeous, looks good on you, and Angie did say we should occasionally go outside our comfort zones.

The pants are not bad, I think you can get a better fit though. Good luck on the other sizes. Try them with boots, I think you will like how they balance your shapely thighs.

Don't size down on the jeans! They look right and plenty tight. The waist needs alteration though, or wear a belt. And they need to be shortened.

LOVE the gold top! An 11 out of 10.

The Pleione top has great potential. Is it snug under the arm, Mona? I'd have liked to see a size up.

Hmm, try rollng up the bottom of the jeans? They look a little long on you and that may be why they look baggy through the leg (mine don't do that, but they are also borderline too short for me), but the fit around the hips looks good. Mine barely stretched out at all with wear, so I think you should be OK. But you could also try a size down if you want a tighter fit.

Gold top is super fab! (But of course it is a statement sweater so you need to be comfortable wearing it!)

I like the pleione too. What do you think of the jersey back? I was considering trying it myself but would have preferred it to be woven all the way around.

Interesting - I'd heed what Angie says! Roll those pants to their proper length to get a better sense of the fit. They are gorgeous jeans.

LOVE the gold top. Please keep! It's gorgeous on you.

I really like the white one, too, and am kicking myself for not ordering this in charcoal when it was available. But I agree maybe size up for the underarm area.

I think the sizing is right on the jeans--they're just wayyy too long on you. Pin them to the right length and try them on again...I think you'll find that that the bagginess around the knees, etc. disappears.

The gold sweater is really awesome on you...the pleione top I am not in love with, because I don't like the combination of sheer and tight.

Umm... I am not loving either piece. The pants have a lot of material bunching up at the knees and the sweater might be hard to style for daytime. is it as shiny as it shows in pictures? I like it as part of a holiday capsule, however.

I think it is a pass for me on both.
ETA: I see I'm going against the grain - shocker - so please feel free to disregard me.

I just noticed the white top, I do like it if you are able to match your cami to your bottoms. I have a severe poison eye with that. I hate that line created by the contrast between the cami and the dark bottoms. I don't mind a dark cami over a light top. I think it looks cool.

I could not go to the Nordstorm today but will go tomorrow. As Angie suggested, I am not going to go a size down on jeans but will have the waist taken in and off course the length needs to be shortened. I have decided to keep the gold top as I am in love with it and it will help to stretch my comfort zone. The white top needs to go back as I could not find the medium size in it. Actually, online all colours were sold out in all sizes!!!
Zapotee, going against the grain is good. It shows you are confident about your style and know exactly what you like. I hope to be able to do that someday.
