Nordie's Shoe Sale (and other stuff)

Hi Everbody!

I went out today to look for some red lipstick that is similar to the Nars Flamenco I always wear. That is my favorite daytime red color, but it seems to come off of me pretty easily (I drink coffee at school, etc) so I am almost out already! I've been looking for another lipstick that is close, but has better wearability for me. I went to Nordie's on my hunt today, and they are having a shoe sale! They mostly have summer styles, but there were a few booties and pumps, too:

I love those! But the high stiletto heel is too much for me. I'm sort of clumsy, and there's nothing fabulous or polished about falling and breaking your neck in front of 100 strangers, hee hee. These shoes were my favorite, but I'm saving up for other things, so I had to take a pass:

I browsed the Nine West store, too. They are also having a really great sale. The sales person suggested these shoe to me:

They wouldn't go with anything I have, but I instantly thought of Tanya.
I did try these on, which were only $14.99! But they weren't comfortable enough:

I stopped at BR to see if they had anything for Brendan, but nothing was in his size. I saw this top, though--again, thought of Tanya. You must get this, Tanya!

AF has a cardi very similar to that one above, but it's a dusky eggplant color--beautiful!

FYI--J. Crew is taking 40% off the lowest marked price on all their sale items in store (final sale).

I only ended up buying lipstick today, which was good because that's what I went out for. I went to the Chanel counter at NM Friday and asked to try a color that I had seen before. The gal said it was discontinued and was very hard to find, and instead put a color on me that I wasn't very happy with. When I went to Nordie's today, there was a lady there who is great and has helped me before. I asked her about it and she double checked her list, and said it wasn't on her list of items that were being discontinued (I even saw the list myself). I'm going to give the NM person the benefit of the doubt and just think that she got the product mixed up with something else (and wasn't lying because they were out). This is the second bad experience I've had with the makeup section at NM, so I won't be going back for those things (the clothing sales people are great, though). Anyway, I ended up buying the lipstick that was supposedly discontinued.

I guess to sum up--if any of you all are looking for some great deals on summer/early fall stuff, now is a great time to go!

Those black and white flower thong sandals and cream and black spectator booties are KILLER. They’d be in my closet in a jiff if it weren’t for these wretchedly fussy feet.

Those flower sandals are amazing! Do you mind me asking what brand they are and how much they are now? Are they still online? I want them! I live in California so I can still put sandals to good use for another two months.

I found them online, but they don't seem to be on sale there (yet). At the actual store I saw the black and white, and also silver and white, and they were marked down to $53.00. They were actually quite comfy--the ankle strap is higher up so it doesn't rub at all. I might go back or keep an eye out online when I get my allowance again.

$53 is awesome! I might have to run to my local Nordies tomorrow after work.

Ana, thank you for the lovely report and for thinking of me! I really love both the booties and the sandals, but they wouldn't work for me either.

Now onto purple things you have found for me: those Nine West purple flats look cool, how comfy are they ( say compared to Me Too flats )? I have spotted that BR top myself, and am planning to get it when it goes on sale. That Limited cardigan is gorgeous! I am in love. I'll have to check it out, but it will have to wait till my BFF returns from her trip to Europe, since she has a car and the only Limited in the area is outside of the city.

Btw, I went shopping today (again), and this time I did buy a few things, some of which are purple I shall post them in an hour or so.

Hooray! The purple flats were comfy (although I didn't have them on my feet very long), but I haven't found anything that can really compare to the Me Toos. Those are like wearing slippers.

I think the BR would look especially nice on you. Waiting for it to go on sale is a good idea. I have issues with knits getting pilly and stuff, so I try to buy them strictly on sale as well. I love that Limited sweater for you--I saw it and it was practically screaming your name, hee hee. I love that AF sweater too! I also like #40 Enais and # 43 Enesse. I am thinking of getting an AF piece, maybe for my b-day! The trouble is that now I have to choose between an AF top, that grey Zara plaid jacket or this brown Mango leather jacket for my present, since I get can get only one

That's a tough choice. Which do you think you would like best and get the most use out of?

Well, the leather jacket would probably be the most practical, although I love the Zara one too, but I am not sure if I can hunt down my size. And I love the AF tops. I don't really know, as you can see

The right AF blouse would be practical, too because you could probably wear it year round (not to muddle your decision further).

I'll decide later, there still 6 or so weeks. Besides, my BF usually ends up openly asking for what to get me - he tries to think of something, but is actually relieved for me to pick something myself. I don't know what will happen now considering this long distance thing, but I might end up with two pieces

I was at Einstein Brothers Bagels on Thursday, and I figured out ahead of time what I wanted so I wouldn't hold up the line trying to decide. But then the cashier asked me if I wanted my bagel toasted, which I hadn't thought about, and all I could do was stare at her blankly. Then I said, "No...yes, wait, no, thanks." And she looked at me like I was crazy, hee hee. Don't even bother asking where I want to eat.
