It's the dreaded "Borderfree." It can be a bit of a nightmare. But it depends.
If you know the size will work, and know you will keep, it can be worth it. Otherwise, to be completely honest, I found it too much of a risk -- and I was ordering back when the exchange rate was better.
My system now is to have a US address ( I use Kinek because I'm about 45 minutes from the border.) I order to the US address. I go, try it on at the place, and immediately send back anything I don't want.
Yes, it takes several hours. But the savings can be worth it. Especially if I am unsure.
Another method is to make small separate purchases. Sometimes those fly under the radar. I had a belt sent to my home from the US and paid no duty on it. A few other packages came through without extra charges as well.
Nordstrom's is great about crediting your account when you do send back. That part is no problem. And if something happens to get lost on the way back to them, they are also incredibly good about that. (Yup. It happens sometimes.)
