Called my salon to book a haircut appointment in the next few weeks and found out my hair stylist, who I love and have been going to for the past several years (5+ years, actually!) has had a medical emergency and is on leave for *at least* the next month, and possibly won't be returning.
Drat. I'm worried, first of all, because I really feel that she has become a friend over the last few years. My mom, sister, and sister's good friend have all come to get our hair cut with her as well, and we've followed her to a couple different salons. I hope she's all right. I always look forward to chatting with her. I have her personal email address handy and have reached out to let her know I'm thinking of her, hoping she is on the mend, trying not to pry.
Selfishly, though, I'm also really bummed because I LOVE her cuts. She knows what I like, and REALLY knows how to flatter my hair and my face. I hardly have to give any direction, and she knows just what to do - I've never been unhappy with a haircut from her from day one. I've never had a hair stylist who is this consistently good and intuitive at knowing what will work best on me without my having to say very much. *sigh* I just do not want to "break in" a new stylist!
