Non-skinny casual jeans lab

I have some casual jeans I picked up from thrift shops and 2 from retail.
Pic 1-2. 100% cotton no stretch cropped
Pic 3. Regular fit jeans not sure of style
Pic 4 -5 slim boyfriend jeans. Sales lady told me to go down a size.
Pic 6 - slim boyfriend jeans I went up half a size because I wanted a bit baggy….May regret if they get too baggy.

Thoughts, ideas, styling suggestions, favourites? . I’m loving the baggier leg. I’m not sure about pair number 2 (pic 3).

Personally, I like the jeans in pics 1-3 . . . not fussed at all on the jeans in pics 4-6, BUT, I don't have to wear them. The jeans in pic 3 are definitely me and what I prefer to wear. I wear mine with a pale blue chambray shirt (yep, double denim) and metallic flat sandals for casual, and a crisp white shirt and metallic mid-heel mules for a bit dressier. Best wishes.

Great jeans, Sally! I think my faves are 4-5, but all are good. I think the pair in pic three might look good rolled and paired with a combat boot.

Great jeans. I really like 4-5. As for 3, they remind me of a pair I had in the 90s, which is very on-trend now I guess. I second CarolS suggestion of rolling them up and wearing combat boots.

My faves are 1/2 and 6. #3… I wonder if the light shoe with the dark of the jeans is throwing off the look…

I like your suggestions @VioletMyra. I do think a heavier shoe or a sandal as you suggested would be better for a boho look and will try that.
@CarolS I will try rolled with my combat boot. That would dress them up too.
@chirico I will need to look up 90s jeans for inspiration.
@Rachylou- I think you are right about the lighter shoe and perhaps a trainer is not right for that style of jeans.

I think all the jeans look good - my favourite styling is with the jackets - they really suit you.

I like the light sneakers better with the rolled jeans rather than the full length in 3 - I think those would suit combat boots or chunky shoes better.

#1 is my favourite jeans for a few years now. Love them with all types of shoes; sandals, boots, sneakers. I dress them up with a blazer or down. The rest are all good. I would roll #2. I prefer the last pair to the 3rd pair but just because getting tired of the tight look - says she who is wearing tight black skinny jeans right now. Great finds all round.

@Sal - thank you. yes I love the jackets. Can’t believe the green one was an op shop find for $5 and initially too small for me.
@jessikams - do you mean number 1? That is my favourite as well as 6.
@ star yes that’s the thing. I wanted baggy and the S/A advised me to size down in pair 3. I hope they stretch like she promised.

My thrifting friend reminds me, whenever I try on anything denim, that I always get rid of anything in denim. But I love to look at it on other people and #6 is exactly the kind of thing that makes me think I want denim.

You are into that cropped length! I prefer the longer jeans without rolling them up. Pics 1 & 2 confuse me; I like 2 so much better that it’s hard to believe it’s the same jeans and sweater.

Nice jeans refresh! You did really well to score so many pairs that FIT! Yay!
I like the variety of washes , I think that adds a lot of versatility. All look good, but like you not so sure about pic 3, however rolling and different footwear could change it up.

I think your new jeans will give you some styling range, so think ‘keep’ them all. (I don’t think there is one jean style to rule them all at this time in fashion!)

I do a deep (4 or 5 inch) roll with my jeans that look like your #3.

I think these do give you a nice range of options. I like having a relaxed fit pair of jeans so I’d be inclined to keep one that’s a little loose…as long as they don’t stretch out more as you wear them! I’d do a test wear for a while at home before cutting tags. Some styles have bagged out too much for my liking and I’ve had to exchange for a smaller size that seems snug at first but quickly “grows.”

Like Janet, i love having a relaxed fit in a pair of jeans, and i have been known to size up to get that fit in the body and than have the waist tailored so that that part fits…
anyway, my favs here are #1/2, love the length,color and loose fit, #6 this is IMO what a BF jean should fit like.
i like #3, maybe with the boots from #2?

I would keep them all. Remember that one sometimes needs jeans for gardening and other dirty work. Your least favorite can be those jeans.

I like them all, with the possible exception of 4/5 that fit like skinnies and I guess my eye has been influenced away from skinnies right now.

Well I like pic 3 the best! But then I have never been a fan of boyfriend jeans, personally, so that puts me off them, although I do think they suit your style. I do really like your green jacket. What a score!
I also like the last pair of jeans, I don’t find them too skinny.

@merwoman I will try different shoes with the longer jeans
@Runcarla I do like the idea of rolling the jeans but wondered if it’s the way the model is standing because the cuffs look uneven
@janet number 4/5 do loosen up but hoping they don’t shrink back in the wash. I’m hoping they will get how number 6 is.
Kkards yes I like how 6 feels but I guess the could stretch out more ..good idea to tighten waist then

@Jaime 4/5 do have a lot of stretch so I’m hoping they get more boyfriend looking. They are a slim boyfriend.

Well, I'll cheer for the BFs in #6 -- they are my absolute favourites here! I also like 1, 2, and 4/5, and think 3 will work with different styling.

It just goes to show you how personal all this is, right? But as Carla said, we have a lot of freedom with jeans now, which is great!

It's interesting how very small tweaks like footwear or a different coloured top make a huge difference to the same garment. It seems to me that you look more confident wearing the "shorter" lengths - cropped or upturned than in the longer version.
