Anne, do you mean sunglasses that don't have "mirrored" lenses? Mine aren't mirrored, but they are plastic, so they are reflective. Does that make sense? Anyway, I prefer non-mirrored shades because the mirrored ones remind me of the 70s and 80s. If you're going for a retro look, I think it's fine. I haven't actually seen those kind around while I was shopping for sunglasses.
Oh, or do you mean a non-reflective treatment for the lenses of your specs? I think they call that anti-glare here. Anyway, I have anti-glare, and it's really great, especially if you live in a very sunny place. The difference is that if you look at the sun shining off a car, it's very bright and blurry, right? But if you have the anti-glare stuff, it cuts down on the shininess off the car. It makes it easier to see things without squinting, I guess. I don't know, my lenses just came with it, but when I got my specs, they showed me un-treated lenses, and it made a difference. It was like the difference between polarized and non-polarized sunglasses, if I remember correctly.
Anyway, not sure if that helps. I recommend it.
