No summer here? I'm going where they have one!

I am leaving Saturday morning for 2 weeks in Turkey and I would like your opinion on my resort wardrobe.

Here is the first part which is my "evening attire". Nothing fancy since I will just go for dinner on a terrace and then for a few drinks (and hopefully a bit of dancing).

1. I fell in love with the funny fabric of this tunic from TK Maxx (yes, here in Ireland the J has morphed into a K). It's the first time I wear this shade of green, I always thought I would look like a salad in that sort of green.
2 and 3. From the sales in Debenhams, a tunic that is SO me: bold, loud and brash. It is made of a lovely silky fabric.
4. Found in Wallis, this dress is so light, it feels like wearing nothing and I adore the "foulard print".
5. Made of a heavier cotton twill, this dress is quite out of my comfort zone. I NEVER wear anything that fitted and now I even dare a narrow belt. I will wear it with this orange linen blouse to de-emphasise my waist - or lack of it.

I love all of the looks. The green in #1 is quite bold but the graphic black and white print helps to calm it some. #2/#3 is just super - love the print. #5 is just KILLER in my book.

Anyways, I've got to tell you that you are adorable in #4! Adorable! I also like the polished vibe of #5.

The white lace leggings with the dark tunic is not my fave, and I think the round bead necklace a bit fancy.

You are also adorable in #1!

Rachylou. That's an all-included trip bought at the last minute. I usually travel as a backpacker, so you can imagine that this will be something totally different for me. I'm going to a resort but I will do many day trips to different places, have a couple of days in the Greek islands of Kos and Rhodes, visit Ephesus, go snorkeling, etc.
I agree with you that 2 looks better with the black leggings. Any suggestion for a different necklace?

I like #2 & #5. I'd just leave off the necklace in #2 - I think the floral top is enough of a statement without the necklace. Have a great holiday.

You certainly have flair. :o) And you've done a great job of stepping outside your comfort zone with that last dress and sweater combo.

As for the white necklace, I would leave it off too, for myself, but that does depend on your personal style too. It's certainly not garish, and if it fits your personality better, go for it. But the print on that top is so lovely that it seems a shame to distract from it.

My first thought, and perhaps rachylou was getting at this, is are these outfits modest enough? Believe me, they're modest to me, but my son is going to Georgia and in the guide book it says women wear long skirts and long sleeves. Assuming acceptable dress is different in these two adjoining countries, then I think your outfits look great.

I actually hadn't thought about the modesty issue. But leaving that aside, I think you've created a colourful, practical, and downright gorgeous travel capsule here! Love your leggings and tunics looks; those are super practical. And the sundress is perfect for heat. As for the last look, you say it is out of your comfort zone, but WOW, it looks amazing on you, and I hope you will wear this silhouette more often!

Your comments mean a lot to someone who for years was wearing baggy pants and blouses like tents because I thought that I was too fat to wear nice clothes. Sometimes fate - even bad one - comes to our rescue. Two years ago, after a quadruple bypass surgery, I decided to take better care of myself, eating healthy food and giving up tobacco. I am delighted to say that as a result I have now a superb skin and I have lost 30 pounds. Isn't it a blessing for a 64 y.o. woman to feel that I look better now than I did 3 years ago!!

JAileen. I will be along the south-western coast, a very touristy area. If I were travelling in small towns and villages, I agree with you that I would have to re-think my wardrobe. I was in Aqabe and Amman last year and I wore long cotton trousers and blouses with 3/4 sleeves every day. I saw many tourists in revealing clothes though: I find it totally insensitive but many of them will argue that it is THEIR RIGHT to walk around in scanty tops and mini skirts.

#5 is stunning, Bagaline, and though I'm not really a fan of the white lace-edged leggings, I do like the other toppers. Congrats on all the positive changes you've made in your life over the last two years; it certainly shows. Enjoy your trip to Turkey.

If modesty is in question I could see pics 1-3 with black 7/8 length, straight- cut narrow pants- you have great slim legs for your frame.

I am from India which is pretty conservative but you know as long as not much legs is revealed no one really bothers about the tourist.
Its different if you wear capri and sleeveless top vs full sleeved t-shirt and hot pants...
First is acceptable second is not

I can just echo everyone else about the clothing -- great travel capsule. I would swap out the white leggings for black. You probably don't need much jewelry when you're wearing lively prints and colors. Have fun!
