No Buy June

I have been reading everyone's posts regarding their J Crew purchases. I then noticed the link to J Crew on YLF and that today was the last day to take advantage of the sale.

With only days left in the month of June, I went to J Crew and filled my shopping cart to the brim. I was seriously going to buy too. Then I came to my senses. There will still be clothes to buy in July and the whole rest of the year. I can hold off five more days. Took a deep breath and will be shutting the computer for the rest of the day.

Sterling, you've pinpointed the danger of YLF for me. I love this community and all I learn and see here, and the great thing is that I get lots of ideas. And the dangerous thing is that I get lots of ideas. It's so easy to get a case of the I Wantses when you're seeing so many people's fab hauls. Good for you for knowing your limits and your weaknesses and taking a step back when you need to!

I was so committed to JSNJ until I realized my handbag situation was not entirely happy. The good thing is I promptly put six handbags on eBay (2 have sold already). So that is helping fund the possible two new bags I have on the way. But in the process of looking at handbagss, I've gotten sidetracked into some clothing shopping. I got some great bargains, and I'm culling some old things as a result, but it's a slippery slope, isn't it?

Nerves of steel! I struggle with this. I have a flannel shirt in mind for my fall list. They have put it on 30% off sale twice now. I can't possibly wear it for at least another 2 or 3 months, maybe longer. But every time I see it on sale I twitch a little. Sigh.

If only we could look into a crystal ball and know what we will be wanting to wear this fall/winter. There are some tempting deep sales right now with winter things greatly discounted, but the idea of even trying them on in the summer heat puts one off. Will I love it in November?

Great job! I have had this happen to me in the past too. I see others with fab things and want to join in on the fun. But if I don't need anything or I have declared not to purchase anything, then that's what I should follow. Only 4 more days til June is over anyway.

I was in TJMaxx to buy a tablecloth yesterday and caught myself fondling some cute shorts and a skirt. Then I remembered no buy June and I continued on my way without even trying them on!

Well done, Sterling! I do that too. Look at all these fabbers buying wonderful items on sale. I convince myself that I have wardrobe holes for every item on sale. Go on the website, browse through it. then I stop and leave the computer for a few hours. In that time, I think about these items with sales goggles off and most of the time, the excitement passes by, I come back to my senses and decide I don't really need to buy these. I am at that stage of my wardrobe building where I have a lot of holes. So I only buy if it is a true need.
