Nike Air Max

I'm all for DYOT but am I totally off track trying to wear this kind of sneaker with dresses? Should I stick to an ECCO lace up style or less gear-like sneaker (Stan Smith)? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi I think a white Stan smith or an Ecco would look great with those dresses (especially the second one)

The air max looks cute, but I would'nt pair it with a dress

However, that's only my opinion !

I think it's totally on-trend, actually! The only outfit that gives me pause is the dress with the jeans under, since jeans plus sneakers can dress down an outfit quite a bit, so it looks like you're running errands from the shins down and attending a show from the shins up! But I think the juxtaposition of the sneaks with the dresses looks pretty cute on the other looks.

I usually wear that style sneakers with jeans, leggings, and sweatpants, but if you like how it looks wear them with whatever you like

I like them - the bright yellow is great, but simpler white sneakers would work too and give a different kind of look. Because these days simple white sneakers are minimalist and sophisticated and bright yellow big sneakers are fashion forward and fun .

I am with Dolores on this one Kelly. I find them too chunky with the pretty dresses and wouldn’t do it myself. But I feel I am not really at all trendy so feel free to ignore me!

Yes, I would and I love the look of the trainers with your dresses. For me, it took a bit of getting used to wearing trainers and dresses. They are fab trainers.

I like the Air Maxes with the first plaid dress. Because it is an edgier dress, the second dress is more conservative so I'm not feeling it the same way. I think you need some new tops/bags to go with those Air Maxes... /enabled.

Do you like the Air Maxes, are they comfy, and would they work with a wide foot/narrow heel?

i want to like this, i do, but for me, its a little to much....or maybe not, because i would like to see the purple lace dress with out the jeans, with the sneakers. or some reason, in my head, that one works

Thanks, Fabbers! I'll reply in more detail later but wanted to let Denise know that I have an average/wide forefoot and narrow heels and the Air Max fit well. I ordered the neon yellow and also a lavender/silver pair and decided the neon works better as a neutral. I'm going to play around with them a bit more this weekend--with wide legs and see how they work out.

I know it's a thing, but I'm not totally sold on these with the particular dresses you are showing here. These still seem pretty athletic and gym-ish to my eye. I'd be more inclined to wear them with shorts/pants, athletic skirts/dresses and play up the neon colour with another accessory (neon bag, sweatshirt, etc).

I think I agree with Lisa - I would love these with a t-shirt dress or similar, as well as with the jeans outfit. That said, the first two outfits read very trendy to me, so even though it's not my thing per se, if I saw you I'd think you were very cutting-edge!
