Nice sweatshirts: post some suggestions!

Rachy's thread on cold summer wear hit home for me - today I'm wearing a peacock print tech skirt, black tee and North Face zip jacket with slip on sneakers for a rainy 60 degree day. An upscale sweatshirt as mentioned in her thread sounds great for summer - but does anyone have specific suggestions?

A nice sweatshirt has been a HEWI for me for quite a while, so I am very interested in this discussion. I have a bit of a mental block about spending big $$ on a sweatshirt. I have admired the McQ, Kenzo and Cavalli ones online for a few years, but have not taken the plunge to purchase because they seem so expensive for something that in my mind should be relatively inexpensive (I also have this mental block in relation to t-shirts).

Interesting - makes me wonder if the "fashion" sweatshirt is still a thing. They can skew rap- wannabe pretty quickly, no? I love an old school hoodie or pullover Grey, navy, washed, beat up (or not!) - you know the type. (although if someone gave me the McQ 1/2 and 1/2 one, I would not complain ...)

I like having a full zip (and hood) for versatility. It's not upscale, but the light blue ombre effect on this hoodie from The Gap is appealing.

I've been borrowing my son's sweatshirts, but they are definitely not made for a girl with curves, lol. Guy's sweatshirts can be tricky size-wise, especially if you have a bust or narrow shoulders. Una, I think you have nice broad shoulders, so those options may work for you!

One of my favorite things to do is to take a plain t-shirt/sweatshirt and embellish it with fabric paint using a stencil. It's very easy and fun
