Nic & Zoe with new top? k/r - YouLookFab Forum

I've fallen way behind. Last week I decided to go through and sort all my files and many photos. Turned out to be a much more time consuming and energy-intense job than I imagined.

The sleeveless polyester top from N&Z arrived. First time I tried it on I didn't like it--armholes are high enough but too wide at the underarm. I was going to send it back because I didn't like it with the jacket, so I didn't iron it. I tried it on again today and liked it better. Also, my local laundry/alterations shop is going to open up for mornings only this week. I don't know if Effie will do alterations, but I could pin it and drop it off so I wouldn't have to try it on there. She completely shut down mid-March.

Q. Is it too big? Does it look good with the jacket? It does have a pleat in front to hid belly and is taken in a bit in back for better shape.

This is an M, the N&Z knit tank tops I get in an L. (Lands End tanks I get in an S!) Should I exchange the N&Z M for an S? I don't relish the thought of a polyester top fitting too close at the bust line or underarm.

Also tried it with light navy N&Z tank from last year. I like this better.

And a Court & Rowe knit shirt top I found while looking for more striped tops. This brings my total to 3. I need more.

Never mind the black bra I have on today. I'm back in my dark blue sweater for my Zoom class that starts in an hour.

I really like the striped top on you! Looks fresh!

The colour of the sleeveless is lovely, but I see the fit issue. I often just pass on shirts like that (this is a common problem for me) but if you trust your alterationist and love the cut and colour otherwise, then I guess it's worth a try?

A little bit of alteration could help - the question is if you'd wear this top with other toppers: jackets, cardigans and such. If this sleeveless top is going to be worn only with N&Z jacket then maybe it's ok to return it ( it is a pretty color on you though ).

Its perfect with the jacket. I say have it altered. On a sad note, I drove by my tailor’s today and it appears her shop has been emptied.

The color looks great on you but it does seem too big. Perhaps it can be altered as suggested. The jacket is gorgeous - love it on you! Striped shirt is fab!

I was immediately taken with the coral top and jacket combo, I think it's worth the alteration.
The striped top is fabulous on you and now I am curious to see how Angie's suggestion to layer it under the jacket works.

I think if you can alter it, it's definitely a keeper ... I didn't notice any fit issue until I read the thread, I was too taken with the colour and how it lights you right up!

I struggle with sleeveless tops and the underarm gap, and it’s just hard to find ones that don’t need that alteration, so I just pass on most of them. It’s such a lovely color, if you think the alteration will work, I say go for it! The gap is not too severe here. Looks great with the jacket.
Agree with everyone that the striped shirt is a winner! I really like a lot of the clothes from the Court and Rowe line.
