A fashion-averse friend had been asking me to help her go shopping, so Sunday we headed off for an afternoon of shopping. I'd never really tried to be the 'expert' for someone else so I was a little anxious, but it actually went quite well. She's very eco-conscious so we decided to start with second-hand stuff, thrift and consignment. I took her to the local consignment boutique, where I encouraged her to try on a bunch of things and we started narrowing down her size and what she was looking for. By the end of the day we'd gone to 3 stores and found her 6 items, including 2 complete outfits.
It was funny, though, in that she found it rather tiring and overwhelming and after the third store I thought 'hey, I'm just getting started'. She was happy (as was her husband - she actually bought a skirt!) and I had a good time as well. Just wanted to share with all of you, since YLF can be given partial credit for developing my 'expert eye'.
