Welcome to the 60+ group of YLFers, colleenmarie. I'm 63 and like to think of myself as semi-retired; my "retirement", such as it was, lasted only a couple of months until I got called back into action, but at a less demanding pace.
I know how challenging it is to morph from professional dress (which now occupies a much smaller segment of my life) to a more casual style. In my case, I also chose to make some lifestyle changes that resulted in my losing a sizable amount of excess weight. Those two changes, coupled with the inevitable changes that happen as your body ages, resulted in my having to start re-building a wardrobe from scratch. It has been fun but also terrifying at times.
Suz's suggestion to look at the MOTG formulas is a good start. The formulas were lifesaver once I figured out how to tweak them to make them fit my age and lifestyle. I also found Angie's thoughts on how she constructs her outfits to be valuable; you can find them in the Archives under Angie's Outfits.
To be honest, though, I get most of my inspiration from looking at the wide variety of outfits that the forum members post on the forum and the discussions and tips that I've gleaned from Angie and the forum members. The forum is an incredibly supportive place with a wide range of ages, interests, occupations, and styles. Post a question like "what kind of footwear works on a ranch" and you'll get dozens of opinions; we are a highly diverse group who love to share our opinions about what we like, what works for us, and everything in between!
