New York early July meetup?

Hi, all -

Just checking to see if anyone is interested in a little meet up in July in New York.

It would be lovely to meet in person!

Having said that, my time is lamentably short this trip -- and it is a big holiday, so others' time may be even more limited.

The days when I could potentially meet are Wednesday 3rd, and Thursday 4th. Maybe for breakfast and shopping or lunch and shopping? Or shopping and lunch. Or something! Maybe just a cup of coffee, LOL.

We looked it up and it seems a lot of things are actually open on the 4th. Then again, a lot of you are probably spending that time with your families!

It is mainly a trip for time with Mr. Suz so I can't take an entire day, alas.

Really looking forward to visiting the city. I love New York!

Normally I'd LOVE to, Suz. NYC is only a 3-hour train ride for me, but we're going to be visiting my sister in Colorado that first week in July. Dang.

I'm sure you'll get lots of others to join you, though. It's sure to be fun!

Heh, Suz, July 4th isn't necessarily that family-oriented. It's just time off. I'm sure I could do either day with planning. The 4th might give me extra time to get down to New York (I have no work issues to consider, such as how many days could be taken off, but hubby, who would want to come with me, would). But do what's best for you.

4th works fine for me, Nancy. Either one. And Nancy (other Nancy!) I will miss you!

But these things sometimes are badly timed. If it is not the best moment, I can certainly plan another NY trip! Maybe when Angie makes her next visit?

I might be able to make it, I'm not sure - friends from NJ might be coming up for a visit. I'll check and see when they are coming and get back to you. Sounds like fun!

Oh darn! I'll be in NYC in July but not until later in the month. I would love to meet you some day, Suz. We'll have to plan another big gathering the next time Angie is visiting.

Oh darn! We have friends from TX coming to visit that week. Normally I'd book a room and hop on the train, but I don't think our guests would appreciate that. Sorry I will have to miss this one.

Looks like NYFW is Sept 5-12 -- that's usually when Angie visits. Maybe then?

Hmmm....that would be fun. But I won't be able to come in September, alas. That is when my daughter starts high school. All hands on deck for the transition. February fashion week would be more likely....

Angie could chime in here herself, but I'm not sure they've had meetups with her in September due to her schedule? Hopefully we can meet sometime before February, though! (Last time, we had to cancel due to a crazy snowstorm. Even crazy for that time of year.)

Hmm, I'm not sure I'll be able to make it down but I'll check... We often go to the berkshires for July 4th but j has gotten slammed at work lately so he might have to work instead... In which case I'll hop a bus down to NYC!

Hi, Suz and others in or possibly planning to be in NYC around this time. Hubby has already approved that weekend for going down to NY, so no pressure but I will be there (I would love to see Zap, in other words, and OB-viously Suz if she can make it, and anyone else who can get down here). If Suz cannot join, I can have a bit of flexibility, too, in when I meet. Will go down on the 3rd and may be in town thru the 6th, not sure yet. Century 21, anyone? (Great bargain shopping mecca.) Lunch, dinner, something fun that doesn't have to be shopping at all.....

Suz and Nancy, I am at your entire disposition. Century 21 is heavily visited by tourists, which I am okay with handling, but I just wanted to point out that It could be very chaotic on a holiday. We can definitely give it a shot, though.
