New Year's Eve dressing

So I'm not 100% right now but I'll probably be going to my activity club's New Year's Eve party. It starts at a waterfront venue, then onto a boat to watch the fireworks at midnight. There is no set dress code. I'm sure some people will even show up in jeans (eye roll).
I am thoroughly stumped as to what to wear. I can't repeat the feathered headdress outfit because it will a lot of the same people. Most of my opera dresses aren't really festive enough. I really don't want to buy something that probably won't get worn again.
Some options I'm thinking of
All Saints sequin mini skirt.
All Saints green pleated leather mini.
Galaxy mini dress, must be worn with opaque tights or leggings as it's semi-sheer.
Cream silk and leather moto.
Sass and Bide gold and lace harness.

Is the galaxy the one with an actual galaxy on it? If so, then I vote for it, with shimmery tights.

I think the sequin skirt sounds like the perfect New Years piece assuming you wear it with tights for warmth.

What will the temperature be? How much of evening will you be covered in outerwear?

Waterfront and boats, I associate with breeze and humidity.

I think New Years screams for sequins.

I have been so boring for the last gazillion New Years -- I should have a party or something. Just to have an excuse to wear something besides jeans and a sweater, or heaven forbid, softpants*.

* My catchall word for any pants that include the pajama, lounging, sweatpant, or yoga variety.

sequin skirt would be fab. with some kind of tights or interesting stockings for warmth? would be classic to wear your red lipstick too--so maybe red on top?

I do like the cream idea too--going for glam amidst the sea of black...

Can you wear the sequined skirt with the moto? It's AllSaints, so it should be a little rock and roll, right? Then tights, boots with a heel, and a fitted top under the moto.

I lean towards the Galaxy mini dress with flashy jewelry, from the sound of it - but I must say a boat sounds very very cold. Personally, I think I'd be required to go in my neck-to-ankle puffer and do a glittered tiara.

I don't think it's a faux pas to repeat something as cool as your fascinator.

I'm with rachylou, I'm afraid. Every boat/waterfront outing has been a freeze-fest for me, and that was not even mid-winter! And was hard on Hair.

My idea of great outfit for that involves a long, exotic-looking velvet coat or cloak or something, with discreet thermal somethings underneath, and beautiful opera gloves, and sparkly earrings, or rachy's tiara! Like Cher in Moonstruck.

Anyway, other than that, nighttime is certainly a good time for glittery things and not as much of the "texture" in softer things that work so well during the day (except if it's a velvet cloak).

I was thinking the same as Ironkurtin. If I were at both events with you, I'd LOVE to see the feathered fascinator again, styled with something different for New Year's Eve. I didn't get a chance to respond on that thread, but that was fantastic and you looked amazing. It's worth wearing again.

I vote for either the sequin or leather mini skirt. If ever there is an occasion to wear a mini, it's NYE.

Love your social life. Like Janet I have nothing lined up for new years.
I am afraid I am on team get cold in boats!
I went to a party in a yacht in australian February and wore socks, covered shoes and took a wool coat and did not regret that level of coverage!
