New work travel luggage

On a whim I ran into the Tumi outlet and picked up a new carryon and travel tote. It's not as exciting as clothing except that they were great buys and I know I will use them to death. Just had to share. (Those are my bright orange feet lower left. On my way to Minneapolis and Chicago.)

Plus, had a meeting with Boden today - might be doing some research for them in the future if things went well. Fingers crossed!!!

I also find new luggage exciting--a good suitcase or bag can make the logistics of packing and traveling far more pleasant. Looks like you'll get a lot of use out of these pieces.

Oh. How long would it take me to drive to the Tumi Outlet? I just came home from a week-long Toronto trip , and my luggage now officially looks like $@#$. Boy do hard sided cases ever take a beating ! I am also officially over the black and silver luggage scene - and really love this idea of a camo and blue combo. I don't do the carry-on thing but I'd definitely do this in a larger checked-luggage size. I also just realized I want bright-orange sneakers.

Btw - if I left now, I could be in Minni by dinner -time. Should we meet for a bit to eat?

nice bags! The camouflage one is so nice. Your systems looks very tight!
My interest in luggage is high and very disproportionate to how often I actually travel.
I love my luggage the same way I love my shoes. I have the cutest Briggs and Riley carry on with orange details and SO has a very sensible Travel Pro.

Ooh, I love luggage. Does your tote have a sleeve to slide over the carryon handle? A piece like that is on my wishlist.

Thanks all. I'm not matchy-matchy but I do like thinks to go well together, and I loved this camo tote (it's in the same ballistic nylon as the case). I wasn't sure how you all would react to them together; not really a set but I like the look. The tote is particularly fab. It goes with everything, it's a great interesting neutral with a bright orange interior. I really love it.

Lisap: I definitely did NOT want a black case. I too am over that! And this blue is actually being discontinued but it's quite nice, and at 50% off, it was a no-brainer for me. And PS, I am leaving Minni right after groups to get to Chicago in time for interviews first thing tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I would say yes! Dinner!!!!

Jenn: Yes, it has that sleeve! I think all Tumis do. And the straps are adjustable. It's such well-made luggage (and quite spendy) -- but fortunately, the outlet sells retail items at 20% off, plus specials. So I can get their items at significantly less.

Smittie: It's amazing how much this little carryon holds. It's very efficient. I've gotten better at packing too. In this bag are two work outfits, two sleep outfits, one casual outfit, and workout gear (not that I will use it). So - quite a lot.

Blue luggage is fabulous! My SO is desperately in need of a new one, way overdue actually, but I refuse to buy black. He wouldn't do camo, but blue or olive is a possibility. You have given me a great idea, there has to be a Tumi outlet somewhere in my area.

Love the bags! I have been using a non-wheeled duffel for my shorter trips, because I hate the bulk of the wheelie bags, but have been considering making a change.

You can tell the Boden folks you have a built in focus group among your acquaintance already!

fab luggage...I hate spending a lot of $ on something that looks like c*** after a few uses, ...and because a few years ago, my suitcase got stuck in the airports automatic luggage sorter and literally melted...

I was chatting with a friend when she asked me for luggage recs and realized I've had my Briggs and Riley carry on for over 10 years now and it's still going strong. Here's to quality luggage when you travel a lot for work. Will never go back to cheap crap.

We were just debating new luggage and decided against in the end, but you are making me rethink. With the amount of travelling I do, heaven knows I could use it.

Nice suitcase, viva. I have the slightly bigger than carry on size of that exact suitcase. High five! I love it and find it easy to pack. Hitting a Tumi outlet at the right time has been very worthwhile here. I clean it up after most trips, as the blue tends to show scuffs when it is checked, as opposed to my black one. Still, I love the color and much easier to locate on the carousel.

I've been looking for a new rolling carry-on, so I've got luggage on the brain right now. Love your new Tumi bags! I had no idea Tumi had an outlet. I need to google it (and then be depressed because it will be thousands of miles from me).
