Dear Fabbers, I would be grateful for help with new work shoes. I work in a very formal environment, where I need to be relatively conservative about what I wear.

I wear flats when I leave the office or go to a meeting, and that works fine. I have a reasonable number of options on work flats. So it is effectively just walking around the office and going to meetings in the office, and I do use the lift. I walk a lot so I am fine with using the lift.

My current shoes, black patent heels are good, but after 3 years, I am bored with them completely. They still look like new. That said I can hold out until September if needed to get new ones. And of course, I can keep them as a spare.

I am short, 5ft 1' and my legs although toned, my ankles aren't especially skinny. I either wear black fishnet knee high socks or black 15 denier tights. I've tried other options, but this works best for me.

1 - existing
2 - I like these but there are none in my size
3 - an option from Russell and Bromley, but these don't quite give me the joy that 2 could
4 onwards - various options
4 - 6 seem a bit fussy to me and I only want to buy one pair really
7 - seem a bit unnecessarily formal and conservative

8 - I have ordered these to see what they are like; I think they may be a bit too chunky

I would really welcome any suggestions and thoughts that you may have.
