Sorry for not properly replying. I have had a couple of days when I have felt completely exhausted (some sort of combination of aches from exercise, hay fever with the onset of spring here, and end of the week tiredness) But I am feeling much better now.
I feel a bit trepidatious about the many great suggestions to semi tuck because I don't seem to have a belt handy that fits my jeans - except a skinny one that Angie said wasn't suitable. I have one from years ago somewhere - perhaps I'll have to drag the suitcase out from under the bed! Or perhaps that is something else to put on the list!
Suz and Lantana, thanks for mentioning reassuringly the camera angle. I feel better! And yes Lantana, working out what is the best proportions is difficult. Especially because I have some old Trinny and Susannah advice going through my head which says that people of my build should never have their crotch showing!
Jules - LOVE the idea of keeping it simple!! And glad you think I look like a tri- athlete (not that I am one) I have been noticing recently that most women at the gym have proportionally larger thighs.
I have one longer cardi that might work for the combination several of you suggested with a short top and will try them out tomorrow if I can manage it (it will be Father's day over here)
