Several of my favorite, frequently worn blouses and toppers from 2015, and a very old peacock scarf from 2010 or so, aren't exactly showing their age, but come out so frequently that I'm aware they would leave big gaps if they fell apart-and they could use a little relief to avoid wearing them out too soon. Many of those blouses are pussycat-bow styles, so I was craving a replacement with similar drama and floatiness without being too unstructured. Bell sleeves and soft fabrics create a similar pretty effect.
Here's what I brought in-plus the new gilet-and what I envisioned for this capsule. The tops work with existing wardrobe pieces too (the burgundy top is a nice faux-dress topper to a burgundy pencil skirt, or to last year's Kut from the Kloth suede and pleather jacket!) but also give me a cushion should older favorites kick the bucket too soon. The gilet works well with all tops. The burgundy blazer and olive jacket work well with either the black floral or the burgundy blouses.
(Disclaimer: I have no makeup except lipstick and damp, unstyled hair! And a dog who wanted to join in.)
Added a real-life styled pic in comments with a different, gray moto jacket.
EDITED: Question. Should the sleeves on the burgundy blazer be shortened? They hit the model above the wrist.
