New Things & 1 keep vs return

OK stay with me here - I'm going to experiment with imbedding links so this could be an interesting post LOL

I just wanted to show you guys some of my recent purchases.

So, here's a collage of all of them - but for some reason its very small and you can't see details...

Now for the tricky bit - I'm going to describe each pic with a link to the bigger version of it!

-My awesome new shoes that can double as a self defence weapon.
-New Target Dress - I'd been on the look out for something I could wear to a wedding/funeral/job interview type thing (because I have none of the above), and I found this one. It fits wonderfully except a teensy bit big through the bust - but you can't tell unless you are looking closely!.

- New grey jumper/sweater - you can't see too well, but its cowl neck and has 3 rosettes on the collar. Its very warm and really nice over a plain l/s tee.

OK this is the keep vs return. New leather jacket. Half done up.

Fits really well and is actually real leather despite the price ($150), it is SO soft to touch and wear. Now the only thing making me question it is that its not very "cheeky"... I think its too long to be worn primarily over dresses, but I would be wearing it over everything, and TBH, if I'm wearing a jacket over jeans it MUST cover the gap at the waistband because if I get a hint of breeze on my lower back - that's it - I'm freezing and nothing will help.

This is the outfit I'm probably going to wear to my birthday dinner on Friday night - new shoes, thick black tights, grey/black satiny dress and new leather jacket (if I keep it). Opinions? I haven't accessorised it here but it would have my red clutch at the very least.

Thanks for any and all feedback. I really would love to know what you think of the jacket - for its price, I really can only keep it if its a definite. I think I will live in it over jeans, and dresses even though its not perfect for dresses... but that could be me being in love with it and not me being objective! I just can't handle a cold back LOL

I like it over the jeans and although I don't love it over the dress, I do think it looks ok. And you say you're in love with it too.

So I think it depends on whether or not you think you can do better with what you've seen elsewhere in the shops. There are lots of black leather jackets around at the moment, but a lot of them are so uber-trendy that they won't be fashionable next year, whereas this one is more classic and will be in style for a long time.

hmm that's interesting Stringy - I haven't seen any other black leather or pleather jackets in store here - but I do live in a teensy town! A few online - but all the ones I like are completely sold out in my size...

Oh there were a couple of those uber trendy ones in one shop the other day but I wasn't even going to look at those sorts!

I've been trying to work out exactly where/when it would get the most use... but I think I need to sleep on that one LOL

Well congrats on the links! The jacket could be shorter if you mainly want to wear it over dresses -- it's borderline too long -- did you wear it last night, and what do you think now?

I love the jacket with the birthday outfit and also with the jeans. I think the shorter hemline on the dress makes the longer length on the jacket okay to my eye. With longer dresses it may not be as fab, but I think you could get quite a bit of use out of it. I vote keep.

Theresa - all the outfits are great. Those are some killer shoes. I personally couldn't walk in heels those high so I'm enjoying them through you. The birthday outfit is awesome - that would be the way to wear your jacket. I'd say it's a keeper for the great deal you got on it. I also love your watch. The dress and cowl neck work great. Nice finds!

Great job posting linked photos. The new shoes are KILLER but you already knew that. I like the rosette detail on the gray sweater. And the new jacket is so fab. The birthday outfit is a 10 to me. Everything looks great. And Happy early Birthday!

I'm still up in the air on the jacket - which is making me pretty sure its going to go back... if there is any doubt I can't afford that sort of outlay for something I'm not 100% sure about. I've always wanted a leather jacket, but now that I have one and have tried it on a few different ways, I'm thinking I like the idea of having one more than actually having one LOL

But, today I found a very cheeky cropped stretch denim black moto style jacket for $25 so I snapped it up because it will work perfectly with my dress collection!

And thanks for the comments on my other purchases - I am so surprised but I can actually walk in those shoes!!

I think the moto will serve the purpose of keeping you warm with jeans and dresses for now. I say hold out for a leather jacket you just fall in love with - they last forever, so you'd be looking at it for a very long time! Even the pleather ones these days are great quality, they'd last for ages too. At that price you're right to wait for the perfect one I reckon. I was really damn picky about mine, and I'm glad I was even though it was a pain in the arse to find it.

I'm so impressed that you can walk in those shoes, they're really something!
