New terracotta bag.....K/R?

I'm all over the terracotta/deep red colors for fall (some of my favs), and have been wanting a red-ish bag for a long time now. I decided to go for a terracotta bag rather a wine/burgundy one, thinking it would have more staying power over the years and be more versatile. This bag arrived yesterday, and I'm liking the shape and style. In fact, I've been admiring this style of bag--with both a handle and a longer strap--for a long time. It feels modern and a little edgy/arty, which makes it in line with my aspirational style goals.

It's not quite as "red" as I'd envisioned it, though, and I was a little surprised to see it skewed a little toward brown. The color is really nice and rich, but is it too close to my old BR cognac bag in color? I think the styles are different enough, but what do you think when they're side to side?

I love the new bag, It's one of the best I've seen for this style/shape. It is pretty close in color at least from where I'm sitting...so color wise it seems to duplicate the other bag but the shape is so different maybe it's ok to have both, just saying....

Ps where did the bag come from? I'm on the lookout for a cognac/brown shade and just love this style!!!!

I love the new bag's style for you Nancylee, but the color is very close to your old one. Would you consider consigning the old one since you might not need them both? Or are you ready for a new color altogether? I'm retiring an old silver bag and I'm finding I don't want silver again right away.

As far as color, is the new bag replacing the old one? I am not sure how big or small your bag collection is, but knowing how many gorgeous colors that F&C bag comes in, I'd say go for a different color. They are too close.

Yes, it is too close in color, but I like the style much better than the old one. Second the suggestions to either retire the old one or pick a different color. You won't use the old one if you have the new one in your closet.

Claire, Suz, Zapotee, Sylvie, Shannon....good advice about the color. I'm considering retiring the old bag since it's got a bit more of the boho feel that I'm moving away from.

The longer the new bag hangs around, the more I absolutely love it! (it is pretty great, isn't it Louise?) I think this bag will be one of those style milestones (like my VC sandals and midis) that really moves my style forward.
