Hi all! I haven't been posting much since life has been very busy and I've been in Texas on the ranch, where fashion takes a definite back seat.

A couple of years ago, I sold my beloved tall, black Frye lace-up boots because the 3+" heels were no longer comfortable for more than a couple blocks walking. I need my footwear to work harder than that! So I have been casually keeping an eye out for replacements with a lower heel. With tall boots trending again this year, I started looking a bit more intently.

These Kelsi Dagger boots are billed as OTK boots. Maybe on someone with short legs, but not for me. I actually like where these hit -- they end below my kneecap and I think that works fine for my proportions and my comfort. I can sit and the backs of the boots don't dig into the back of my knees at all. They feel a little stiff at first, but I only wore them around the house for a half hour and could feel them loosening, so I think they would be fine. There is a zipper so no need to worry about lacing and unlacing them!

My one doubt is the size. I tried these on in my usual size 8 with thin socks and they were OK, but I'm wondering if I should go up a half size to accommodate a thicker sock. I never regret having room for more substantial socks in winter. So I ordered the 8.5 to compare.

I'm pretty sure they will be keepers if the size gets sorted out and the comfort is adequate. The quality is not quite what the Fryes were, but they are less expensive and not an everyday item, so I think they would still last me years.

Feedback welcome!
