I know the feeling Erin. I feel completely incompetent when it comes to choosing glasses for myself —a feeling based on my MANY bad choices over the years.
Of the two you showed, I much prefer the first ones. I think the second pair are too big for your face.
That said, if I were you, I would keep looking and try on lots of frames and find something you truly love.
I recently bought new glasses and sunglasses and forced myself to try on lots and lots of them at different vendors. I solicited lots of advice, and the best actually came from my physical therapist. He asked me all sorts of questions about what colors I liked, what colors I wore, what flattered my coloring and then discussed face shape, etc. (BTW, Andy is also a fabulous PT and completely saved my bacon when I had a neck problem that the ortho said would need surgery. Phhhtttt to that!)
The upshot of my admittedly arduous trek through glasses world is that I have a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses that I love and wear all the time. I ended up with Chanel frames for the sunglasses and even though they were 2.5 x more expensive than any sunglasses I've ever bought before, I'm really happy with them.
Happy hunting.
