New style obsession - Alice on "The Catch"

Hiya, wondering if anyone else has been sucked into Shonda Rhimes newest show "The Catch"? It's a fun, con-artist caper-type show. I enjoy the show but am absolutely in love with the main character, Alice, and her style. I think it could be describe as classic with a 60s mod touch. It's enough the make me look for a dressy job, and I am seeking out way to incorporate elements of her look into my ultra-casual lifestyle. Liquid eyeliner anyone?!? She also happily has to wear some practical clothes for her private-detective ventures so I'll be taking notes.

Has anyone else been sucked in by Alice's style - or any other new style muses?

I have not seen it TG - but I can see you in this look.

Obviously a trench coat would work, knee high boots, and maybe a knee length dress. I bought one recently (with bell sleeves, knee length, fairly loose) and find it a super versatile addition. Cute printed silk scarves could also work with this look.

I have been obsessed by Jed on The Night Manager and her style. She has a very cool, elegant, pale, draped look. I have even called my hairdresser about getting her haircut.... The look does not translate well to my life but I admire it a lot.

Ah, now o haven't heard of that one! She has a beautiful, ethereal yet dramatic look if that makes sense. I hope you'll have a go at the translation and let me know! Thx for the encouragement and tips ... I'll be asking "what would Alice wear" on my next shopping trip!

My style obsession for years has been Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side. I'd wear any of her wardrobe in a heartbeat. Sorry for the picture quality.

I can see the similarities with your style - polished, neutrals, quality accessories.

I wonder if I am drawn to looks I don't get much chance to wear. I also admired Robin Wright on House of Cards and Joan/Megan on Mad Men. All totally impractical for my life:(

Oh yeah, major crush on Alice 'style on The Catch.
I feel that there are some elements that I can incorporate in my casual lifestyle.
I always admire the way color palettes are done for red haired blue eyed women. They make it look so easy because either the match their hair or eye color . As a brown eyed, brown hair girl I always have to work harder and play with undertones or contrasting color because adding more brown to the mix would make me look very blah.

I will definitely have to take a look! I loved Mirielle Enos in The Killing but she is unrecognizable in comparison--huge baggy sweaters, dirty hair in a constant ponytail, no makeup--she must be enjoying her new role too

I haven't heard of this show. I love Mireille Enos and thought she was amazing in The Killing. She looks so different here. Her character in The Killing was as far away from stylish and glam as you could get lol. Must take a look.

Rachylou, thanks for pointing out the Catherine deneuve style link ... I'll look up more about her style. Will have to have a look at her in the killing. Amazing how styling can transform a person from character to character. Celia, great point that her gorgeous red hair and blue eyes add something special and unique to her looks. As for the show, well it's food if you like Shonda ... Lots of fun but likely to take a soap operaish turn thx all for your input!

Oooh, TG! I started watching this show a weeks ago when it debuted and I am addicted! And I agree, Alice's style is fantastic.

Joel Kinnamen, her The Killing costar was on this season's House of Cards--also cleans up rather nicely!
