Something La Belle D. said on a recent post of mine has really got me thinking. I love geek chic style, and so I went looking for inspiration in that direction. My first stop was a blogger I'm already somewhat familiar with, The Stylish Geek. Then I started thinking about my passion for scifi (not just Star Trek!) and ... yeah, that took me WAAAAY down the rabbit hole haha! I found Gareth Pugh, and am crushing so hard on his designs. I also discovered blogger Faiiint, and really like her style too.

I'm thinking I might use these concepts as themes for the coming weeks. I've always liked goth/victorian, but I've only ever barely dabbled in it. I think the merging of this with sci-fi and geek will be fun. Steampunk is great, in theory, but usually a bit over the top. Cyberpunk, toned down, seems a little more achievable for me. The one big drawback is that a lot of these are very sculptural, structured looks, which I don't think I have much of. But it will be a fun experiment!

What do you think of this - will I be able to successfully (and authentically) incorporate these into my style repertoire? With the current goal of defining and refining my style, is this going to take me too far off track, or does it seem like a natural, organic place for me to go?
