I think the problem is that models tend to be tall, so when they model pants made for average height women, the pants are too short. The average height customer then thinks that the pants are supposed to be like that since that's how they're shown. It's a vicious cycle....
The EF pants you linked are a petite, and I'm willing to bet that leggy model is anything but petite!
I assume companies spend a lot of money on these photo-shoots, so I don't understand why they don't style the pants properly. They do go to great trouble with tops and dresses by pinning them back. They routinely over stuff models in too small bras to make them look voluptuous. I wonder if most stylists who direct these shoots don't know too much about PPL.
Just wait... it will unfortunately be a trend. And you will see teenagers with low-crotch bottoms (and boxers or thong underwear hanging out) wearing this length but wide-leg. We can always consider it not age-appropriate and refrain from doing so.
Not PPL but pppL = pretty pathetic pant length.
